As a pretty good amateur bartender, I’m not looking for cocktails I can make at home in Toronto. I want to be intrigued by unusual combinations, ingredients and techniques. The team at le Lab has a knack for drinks that are both surprising and delicious....My husband and I had planned to order two drinks, but they were so good that we ordered two more before continuing on for pizza. Service is smooth and warm, the speakeasy decor comforting.More

I just popped in here randomly walking through Montreal because it looked cool. I was right. The decor and setup here is very prohibition era, which is pretty awesome. The cocktail menu is incredible, and the bartender did an excellent job executing them. Service was...wonderful. I would go back, and I would recommend.More

I happened to walk past this place on my way to St Denis looking for a snack supper, so I walked in. Plenty of ambiance from the student-ish crowd on a Thursday evening and some classic pop in the background, but not loud enough to...interfere with conversation. Primarily a cocktail bar but they do have a nice selection of beers and some tasty bar food which met my needs exactly. Friendly staff, no delays, nice place. Happy to go again, and just as well, as it is only round the corner from me.More

A place with a great atmosphere, beautiful design, friendly service and an amazing cocktail menu. You could also tell a bartender about your tastes and he would make something amazing for you out of the menu.

If you like hand crafted cocktails this is the spot! Funky music, enthusiastic and passionate bar tenders proudly display the best of what a true bar tender can be. You name it they can make it, or just tell them what you like and leave...it in there capable hands. They also have a small and appropriate food menu. This place has great energy and amazing drinks, must go!!!More

We stopped in for a drink after a show at MTELUS. It wasn’t busy and we were served quickly and with flair. Great drinks! We had a Sazerac and a Margarita. Very much enjoyed.

I was participating in GoldRushCanada (like a treasure hunt) and one of the clues led us (and quite a few other people) to come to Le Lab. They lied to us about their affiliation and made us buy a $16 martini to get a clue...that turned out to be fake. When later confronted they refused to reimburse us or apologize for scamming dozens or more participants into buying drinks. Our waitress said the manager told her to lie and give the fake clue to sell more drinks. Shameful.More

This bar is a nice place to visit and has good drinks. The only problem with this place is that they are understaffed, so the service was slow. There was one person behind the bar and one person in the rest of the bar, so...I don’t recommend going here in a rush. Despite being busy, the staff was still very nice. This place also has a really cool atmosphere!More

Got this bar was selected as a recommendation. Went there first time for a quick drink, order was taken quickly, but about half an hour wait for drink to arrive, same for the bill, can't order or pay at the bar. Couple days later decided...to try it again and it was worse then the first time, we were shown to the table, 25 mins later we still we're not served, so we just left. This bar is clearly understaffed. It could be such a great venue, it has potential. Tough.More

We stopped in for a couple drinks on a Saturday. The bar itself is pretty cool/interesting. I asked my bartender for something tropical or fruity. He offered me a drink from "the old menu" and said it was just what I was looking for. He...did not tell me that the price was $22! For one drink! There were a lot of liquors in it but it was nothing special and I didn't know about that until AFTER when I got my bill. So my 2 drinks cost me $40. Like I said, it was a cute bar but very pricey. Based on this experience I probably wouldn't return.More

This was a great bar. Fantastic, friendly staff. The cocktails essentially define the concept of “craft cocktail”. Wreathed in fire, boxed in takeout, filled with delicious inhibition-melting ambrosia. Seriously though, great bar. Highly recommend the feu de camp shot. I won’t say it will change...your life, but if you’re having an argument with your significant other, and yes you both love each other but you just can’t seem to turn your attitude around after your argument, and y’all are avoiding eye contact....order a “feu de camp” :)More

Great place to crash for stunning drinks and martinis. Friendly service, and D.J. present on some nights. Food is good without being outstanding. Wood return!

A friend and I wanted to try this place out after reading about it in The New York Times and we liked it so much we went back the next night. Take a seat at the bar to watch these master mixologists at work. If...you're lucky, they'll give you the history behind some of the recipes, brands of alcohol, etc. Too many delicious drinks to name, but the Mezcal Negroni was so smoky and flavourful and delicious. And the Episcopal was out of this world: calvados, vanilla liqueur, Scotch, and lime. It went down so smoothly! We had the great fortune to meet Ben, the men who invented that drink, who was working at the bar that night. Thanks to him and the rest of the amazing staff for two great nights out in Montreal.More

Nice dive bar atmosphere with creative and unique cocktails. Felt very brooklyn but not pretentious. Would totally start the night or end the night here!

The bartenders at this bar are extremely talented. They change up their drinks menu pretty regularly so there are always new concoctions to try. And if you're not satisfied with those options for some reason, the bartenders will craft you a fantastic drink based on...your stated preferences. The bartender made me a fantastic version of a whisky sour with a nutty finish. The drinks are about $12-16 which is on the higher side, but totally worth it. If you show up before 8:0 pm, many of the drinks will be closer to $8. I was so impressed with the place, that I returned for lunch the following day. Their risotto was sublime. Just note, that they don't make cocktails until around 1:00 pm (or at least they didn't on the day I was there), so you'll have to settle for beer or cider. Fortunately, their collection of both is good. In terms of the feel of the place, it has a 1920's speakeasy feel, which makes it super mellow. I will definitely be returning on my next visit!More

It is very much a specialty bar. They do great cocktails and such, they make their own syrups and bitters I think. They do have food too but it is primarily a bar.
