Excellent fare...soups, salads, organic, fresh, creative combinations and dressings...lovely service even though the popularity of the venue might mean a wait before you can get a table. Highly recommended

Everything is delicious at la Boîte gourmande, specially the tea. The welcome is warm, the atmosphere very local with people enjoying spending time sipping their coffee after breakfast while reading the newspaper or working on their Macbook.

Great food, seriously. Lunch time is a treat!! And the breakfasts! On top of everything, I love the place: lots of light, plants, and wonderful personnel. But the food, for a quick lunch, it is great!!!

I was recommended this restaurant by friends, wish I had known about this jewel of a place earlier. This is a cafeteria style dining room, very family friendly, with free WiFi. The food is homemade, delicious, vegetarian friendly, and unpretentious. The servings are very generous.

I go here pretty often for breakfast or brunch. The food is great and affordable, the service is friendly. It's a pretty big place inside which is important because it fills up pretty quick on weekends ! In summer they put out a nice terrace in the back

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
