Never have I been to such a caring establishment. I was having a tough time and the staff went above and beyond to cheer me up and make me welcome. I had the ribs which were succulent and delicious. Made my day - thx.
Upscale Brew Pub serving good quality crafted entrees from a limited selection menu. Portion sizes are fairly sized and adequate. The ambiance is warm and inviting, a very trendy upscale atmosphere but not pretentious at all- so it still feels very inviting.
Their craft beer...selection is good and they make some some above average tasting brews.
Service was friendly courteous, professional - could have been a bit more proactive.More
The brew pub is not in an old convent. It is in a modern office block and is a very contemporary space. Maybe it was built on an old convent site. The beers are fine for their style but not exceptional. The food is well presented...and that is when it ends! If you're curious, try the beers but do not eat here. You have to try really hard in Quebec to find awful food. We weren't even trying. We didn't and wouldn't go back. It is catering to the business, weekend conference crowd/cruise passengers.
In Montreal there is no reason to go here, unless you are caught in a biblical rain storm or are lost. The staff were wonderful but are limited by the poor performance of the kitchen and the mediocre beers. There are better places to go in Montreal.More
Stopped in for a snack during a tourist death march... I had a saison that tasted a lot like a Belgian wheat, Hubs had an IPA that was very nice. The poutine, however, stole the show. There were chipotle peppers in the grave and chicken...marinade. So good!More
This was a great stop for lunch, the beer was decent and the food was excellent - highly recommend trying the smoked potatoe salad! It has a nice patio on the sidewalk but also a great inside environment too.
We sampled a number of local brew pubs during a recent 5 night stay. All were good, but my party agreed this place was the best. Of particular note was the Marquis - a dark beer which we liked enough to take a growler back...to the hotel. The sandwiches were tasty and had a nice presentation on a wooden plank. The pulled pork was particularly enjoyableMore
My husband and I had a wonderful lunch here! The $4 beer special was a nice surprise and our meals were very filling! We shared the pulled pork sandwich ( that came with fries) and the house salad ( that came with butternut squash soup)....Everything was delicious and I wish we could have tried all the beers!More
This was one of my favourite places in Montreal, however my experience on April 13, 2019 made sure I never set foot on it again.
My girlfriend, who is vegetarian, ordered the vegetarian burger. What a surprise we got when she received the burger and...cut it in half, as she typically does before eating burgers, there was a big piece of sausage inside the “vegetarian” burger. We were puzzled, because it was not like they mixed up and gave us a different item on the menu, it was the “vegetarian” burger with a foreign piece of sausage inside.
When we told the waiter, he didn’t looked surprised at all, he just confirmed the obvious, that it was a piece of sausage that should not be there. We were of course struggling to understand how that could happen, besides being a prank or extremely low quality standards. The waiter justified it as “maybe it just fell in the burger”.
We’ve had other less than great experiences eating out and we do understand that things go wrong once in a while, so we are very understanding and typically restaurants are very embarrassed when things like this happen. However in this case, there was not even an apology or an ounce of embarrassment. It was honestly like if it was normal that a foreign piece of sausage can “fall” in any food.
After that of course I thought, what else can “fall” in the food then. So we decided to leave and I offer to pay for the beers, as I found it fair.
However the waiter said that I also had to pay for my food, which of course I did not eat, as there was “nothing wrong” with it.
I ended up paying for the food I did not eat, as I did not want to ruin my evening even more fighting over it.
Terrible standards or a prankster in the kitchen and terrible customer service.
