We went to this restaurant with doubts, but were pleasantly surprising we'd by the food, aroma, presentation. It is very tasty authentic Turkish restaurant. We ordered a bead and a lamb dish with egg plant, flavor was out of this world.

We had a 1st visit to this wonderful authentic resto. From the initial service of raki (aperatif) to the Turkish coffee at the end, drinks and dishes were very nicely presented, tastefully prepared and served with care and grace. I especially recommend you order the raki & Turkish coffee for the presentations. We chose a variety of appetizers and main... More

My husband and I came to Sefa for our anniversary. He is from Istanbul and has a very high standard when it comes to Turkish food outside of Turkey! The food was authentic and delicious, and the decor and atmosphere is really cozy but elegant. We had the soup of the day (lentil and mint soup), su borek, tavuk (chicken)... More

I got a chance to sit and enjoy the ambiance and good food in this restaurant. I strongly advice for everybody who live in and visit Montreal. Very bright, neat. Staff are very friendly. Food are divine. They have quite selective menu with different options including vegetarians. Excellent music. Briefly you can not go wrong in this restaurant.

Exquisite menu and epicurean feast to the taste buds, mouth watering dishes to most discriminating palate without being ostentatious in their menu selection, or sacrificing authenticity to designer cuisine of mixed cultures and new trends to impress their patrons. It's genuine Turkish Cuisine that you could find anywhere in Turkey. We had Cold Mezze Platter which is beautifully presented with... More

We came to Sefa to celebrate a few special occasions as a family (all adults). The service was over and above from the beginning. The recommendations of our waitress were excellent. The mezzes were all so tasty, as well as the non alcoholic rose water and honey, and mint lemonade drinks. For the entrees, half of us had the lamb... More

We went there as a couple for a special occasion. On the website, the restaurant looked quite elegant, and it is. We love Turkish and Middle eastern food and wanted to try this one. We love other Middle east restaurant as Su (our favorite), Kaza Maza, Damas, La Mer among a few. Sefa has probably the best décor (we have... More

Five us tried different dishes: a mezze platter with lovely vegetarian dishes (artichoke, green bean/tomato, okra, spinach/yoghurt/grain), a fish dish, veal and eggplant dishes, desserts (rice puddings, a Turkish grain pudding, baclava). We also had a red and a white Turkish wine. Everything was delicious and well-presented. Service was very pleasant. The price was reasonable for five people as well.... More

The place is nice and the service very courteous. The cheese bourrek appetiser was excellent but the main dishes were only average. The chicken tagine was too sweet. globally it is somewhat overpriced.

A new found treasure in Montreal, happened on entirely by chance. The high quality of the meze selections and the main courses made me think I was once again in Turkey, but the jewel in the crown is the bubbly and effervescent personality of Diyar, the young and charming co-owner. We shall certainly be back soon. DS

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
