Nice little out of the way place for a coffee and sandwich for lunch. Sandwiches are hand made on handmade baguette. They have soups and other things and drinks but we never tried them, we were just looking for a refuge from the cold winter wind and a nice local place to have lunch. Employees are very friendly and the... More

This small but busy bistro serves excellent sandwiches with nice salads along with them. It gets crowded at lunchtime at that's a good sign: locals enjoy the creative choices as much as us travellers do.

Weird for a bakery, but it seems some of the baked goods are kept from the day before. Everything was cool to the touch and tasted dry and a bit hard. Maybe it's better if you go midday and can get fresh baked goods. The coffees are fine.

This cute little boulangerie makes incredible pastries and breads. I had the pleasure of trying their Croissant Allemande and I had to return the next day for seconds!! It was so delicious! Their coffee was good, and service excellent. Well worth a visit if you are in the area!

Staying in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie

Neighbourhood Profile
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie has one of Canada's most prominent Italian communities, with Little Italy concentrated along the convivial bends of Saint-Lawrence Boulevard. Known for its fantastic bars and authentic Italian fare, the domain includes the Jean-Talon Market, the largest public market in North America. Open year-round, sunny months see fruit and vegetable stalls set up outside the main chalet, while blustery weather draws crowds indoors to meat and cheese sellers, spices and truffles stalls, and for regional delicacies such as rare Charlevoix lamb. While the market dictates what's fresh for local restaurateurs, visitors can please more than their palates, taking in the Renaissance architecture and frescos of Madonna della Difesa, the picturesque Rue Saint-Rominique with its cheerful homes and splendid gardens, or the ornamented thoroughfare of Plaza Saint-Hubert.
