I went here in the afternoon for a late lunch. This is one of those relatively rare spots in a big city that is really nice but at the same time quiet and chill and spacious. Most people seemed to be there to read or write or work away on their computers. I had an excellent chili with guacamole, a... More

Visited the place on numerous occasions! One of the friendliest staff I have ever seen and one of the tastiest vegan cuisine! My friend is a die hard vegan and he was not as pleased as me. I'm just trying it out, so I guess I have yet to learn. Overall, very pleased. Thanks

Basic vegan fare, perfectly adequate. What makes this place special is the ambience, with friendly staff and great jazz and an all-round comfortably-hip vibe.

excellent entertainment with a slant on jazz.the strictly vegan menu could easily convert any carnivore with is wonderful textures and tastes.a nice selection of drinks, and full bar service.this is a self serve style of place ,where you order at the counter, and then they bring your food out to you.

This charming café located in the Mile End neighbourhood of Montreal is owned and operated by musicians. They have an impressive nightly line up with a reasonable cover charge. Their vegan menu is imaginative and delicious, judging by the Victoria Rice Bowl and Rooibos Latte with vanilla almond "milk" sampled. My sweetheart and I came to meet friends to listen... More

The food is only a compliment to excellent Kalmunity Jazz collective that plays here every Sunday night. Absolutely the best night to go to this cafe, order one of their rice bowls of their grilled cashew cheese sandwich for a great evening.

Its my first day in montreal and i wanted to start my planned diet of Jazz with something low key. And Resonance cafe providede that! Really chill, down to earth environment. Not touristy at all, with really resonable drinks and food. I only had a ginger beer, which was so so, but the environment was so chill. The music was... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
