The food, service and atmosphere is is excellent. It is an elegant restaurant with pretty decor, lots of velvet drapery that fits with the Russian theme of this restaurant. Real linen napkins and nice glasses and cutlery add to it's elegant feel. The service is perfect everything comes in a timely fashion and nothing is forgotten. The food is very good and I especially loved the "Solianka" soup and the "Medovik" cake. Go and enjoy especially if the live music is on.

Absolutely amazing “hidden” gem. It’s a little out of the way but honestly a must go if you go to Montreal. The food was amazing. For appetizer we got the caviar, my first time trying it and definitely worth it. We got the beef stroganoff and the lamb. Both were cooked perfectly, and seasoned well. Plus very good portion sizes. For dessert we got the vodka sorbet and they gave us some complimentary ice cream to apologize for how long the wait for the food was (which was on top of the apology we received before the food came out). The service is really where they shine. The servers were so nice and attentive. This is definitely the kind of fancy restaurant where they switch out your table placement for each meal but they’re not the judgey type. We were dressed in casual wear and they were helpful making recommendations on the menu. The best part of course for me was the unlimited bread and butter. This is such a small thing but I’ve noticed restaurants moving away from the bread basket and the fresh bread was so good. It’s a small restaurant so would recommend a reservation especially if you are a larger party but cannot recommend this place enough. The prices were on the higher end for us, but honestly completely worth it. If you’re traveling on a budget I recommend this being the fancy dinner of the trip :)

This is what I told the lady that is in front of the business. The service was as good as the food they offer. Service was very friendly and correct. We had been there for the first time long time ago, but we do not live in Montreal so it had been a long time for our second visit.Shame we do not live in Montreal! We had a couple of appetizers (marinated mushrooms and avocado filled with shrimps) both were very tasty. We also had Beef Stroganoff and Chicken Kiev which were also very good. Portions reasonable, price more than reasonable.

Visited Ermitage with some friends; I am pleased to report that it was a very nice experience all round. Pros: Beautiful interior; really makes you feel that you could be in Eastern Europe and possibly within the walls of the Ermitage museum itself! I was enthralled by the mirrors on the ceiling and the antique telephone at the bar Good variety of menu and drink options. All dishes were elegantly presented I highly recommend the Solyanka soup; so flavorful! Other highlights include the homemade bread and butter, and the chicken Kiev which was made to perfection; it exploded with the aroma of butter upon the first cut (as it should be :)) Cons: A tad expensive (and the prices have been steadily climbing; e.g. the main dishes were on average $25); For me it's not a big issue given the uniqueness of this type of cuisine in Montreal, and it's location in a nice area of Cote-des-Neiges The waitress (owner?) was a in rush to serve us our dishes and remove our plates; it seemed a bit strange, considering that it was hardly busy at the time of our visit Be forewarned that if you book and not show up, they have a penalty charge.... Cons aside, I would consider revisiting Ermitage to try some other menu options; its combo of ambience and food quality make it an excellent choice for a memorable lunch/dinner

We dined here this evening. I had the prix fixe menu and chose the Baltic salad to start. It was fresh and delicious and large! For my entree, I had fried perch. It came with a variety of perfectly prepared vegetables. The fish was superb!! Then, I had to squeeze in dessert: 3 types of small cake slices, with whipped cream, raspberry coulis and garnished with dainty meringues. My friend had the chicken Kiev and was equally impressed with her dinner. Oh, and the meal was accompanied by a basket of varied warm, freshly baked breads. What a feast, from start to finish!! The lovely woman working (I don't know if she owns the restaurant) was attentive and delightful. Definitely make time for a dinner here!!

I had lunch with a friend and enjoyed every bit of the experience. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Above all, the food was absolutely delectable and beautifully presented. From their homemade butter to their house breads and to the main meal which we chose the soup followed by the fish of the day….fabulous !!

I and my son tried several restaurants during a trip in Montreal and by far this one the best one. First of all the lady the serviced us was very kind to us and she had wonderful manners: the atmosphere was great, the restaurant was very clean and the food was just amazing for a very reasonable price. We tried the tasting menu and it was just the best choice to sample many of the several delicatessens that they serve . We loved all if it and we highly recommend it.

Four of us went there for lunch today and we were all extremely happy with the food and service. The portions were generous, the food was tasty (especially the Borscht soup), and the service was outstanding. The cost of the lunch menu was beyond reasonable. Thank you!

Russian food. Wait staff attentive and knowledgeable. Lots of fresh bread before and during the meal. Dishes include lamb, beef, chicken fish, all done in traditional Russian styles. Several dessert options - the honey cake is spectacular.

This was the best tasting menu dinner I have ever had. Fresh, home made, delicious, 5-star service. The tasting menu began with home made fresh bread and butter, accompanied by three varieties of fish (mackerel was top notch). Then caviar with crepes (best caviar). Then sorbet with vodka (amazing!). We had a lamb and elk dinners completed with homemade crepes. Galina had ensured the presentation and everything was 5-star and even did a show with “Ditch”. Highly recommend and I will be definitely returning.

Parc du Mont-Royal
Montreal was named for this hilly highland, where the tallest spot in the city overlooks its most extensive parkland. The greenspace of Parc du Mont-Royal is an outdoorsman's dream, with hiking trails and nature walks that cater to every season and level of athlete. In the winter, cross-country skiers, tobogganers, and ice skaters don their equipment by Beaver Lake and its pavilion, while the warmer months bring families and competitors to the pitches of Jeanne-Mance Park for tennis, soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, or a dip in the community pool. A perfect spot for a stroll or a picnic, the forest foliage is dotted with sculpture art and offers views of some of Mont-Royal's oldest edifices, the towering St. Joseph's Oratory and the mausoleums of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges. Home to musical celebrations and twilight snowshoeing alike, visit here to walk, write, rest, think, or just be.
