We came here without booking and were extremely lucky to benefit from a no show. We were a party of 4. After being seated we were promptly given water and a drinks order taken. We had a MR. POPO cocktail while the server explained that...it was a tapas style restaurant with Japanese food. We were given recommendations of certain dishes, but was offered a 'tasting menu' to fully experience most of the food on offer. The tasting menu was about $45 per person. All of the food was full of flavour and extremely enjoyable. The food was fresh and well seasoned, along with perfect ingredient combinations. My favourite was the black gyoza and pork rib. A friend and I recently had an amazing lunch at Biiru restaurant in downtown Montreal. The food and the service were both excellent as was the ambience in the restaurant. Between us, we ordered the Black Gyoza (pork, shrimp and black mushroom rolled together), Veggie...Gyoza (veggie ravioli with Gyoza sauce), Candied Salmon, Karaage (fried chicken, yuzu and black pepper mayonnaise) and Pokuribu 2.0 (glazed pork ribs). The Candied Salmon, and Pokuribu dishes were absolutely amazing and a real highlight. The Veggie Gyoza and Karaange were excellent as well. We ended lunch with a shared serving of Matcha Passion Cake - extremely tasty, This was the first time my friend and I had been to Biiru but we will be back. The food experience was amazing!More

I think so far this is my favorite Japanese restaurant. I had the suika, watermelon salad, salmon bonbons, salmon with spicy caramel and the unagi yakitori, eel bbq, all delicious and very original. The service is super, everybody very kind. Loved my Hotie cocktail. Thanks...all!More

I’ve been many times to Biiru and it never disappoints. The staff is awesome, they give an amazing service. The food is really delicious. I recommend it 100%.

I enjoyed the food : the cold ramen salad was tasty, the spicy salmon tartare also (although there could have been more salmon), the macha cake with passion fruit mousse and crumble was surprisingly good. Overall very happy with my choices. Portions aren’t always very...big so depending on your appetite you may want to buy more than one thing. Nice spot even if I find it a little expensive for lunch (ended up costing almost 40$).More

Please trust your waiter and forget about the menu. The food was amazing and the beer ice cold. Will return.

I was craving real dumplings since I came back from Japan. This is the place. Authentic Japanese food. Delicious cheese dumplings. Great ramen. Absolutely loved this place. Then even have Asahi.

Described as “Funky Japanese izakaya dishing up traditional small plates & drinks from cocktails to sake & soju.” and I would agree. Popular so again would recommend reservation. I had a few small plates and matcha cake for desert washing it down with a Sapporo....All good. Service was quick too. I sat at the bar, not sure if that makes a difference. Small downside.. as hip as the place is, I'm sure not everyone enjoys staring at the waiters underwear with the so often see low hanging jeans younger people feel comfortable with. Get a belt please. But that won't spoil the place for me and I will come back. Actually tried 2 days later but couldn't get a seat.More

The place is usually quite busy and not very spacious, I recommend to book in advance. The have a nicely decorated patio as well. They offer a selection of mostly Japanese dishes and a good selection of cocktails/beers. We were three people and decided to...share all our dishes following the suggestions of the waiter. Every dish was nicely presented and very tasty, the quality was undeniably high. Of course, you do not get street-food prices for that, but we were all very satisfied. Strongly recommended!More

Food is great and yummy , decor is comfortable too .. but i know it is located in downtown , the owner want to do more business,, I feel the waiter want to push us to finish quickly ..and go away
