My wife and I rang in 2024 at JF with the it’s New Years Eve 12 course dinner. One word - Fabulous. The ambiance was great (live instrumentals, nicely decorated) the wait staff was attentive. Nicholas, our server, made sure that my wife was provided an alternative menu given her shellfish allergy. We welcomed the new year with a Dom Perigbon toast. I highly recommend JF!!!

We went to their new restaurant to feast our wedding anniversary. We were greeted with a choice of five drinks and we chose the Prosecco. We were offered some popcorn with truffle powder which was not too impressive. We were then brought to a table that we immediately requested to change. We were then placed at another table, close to the bathrooms. We were too embarrassed to make another change and we remained there. We next had some caviar and mini blinis which were not copious and really nothing special. We ordered a bottle of rose wine for the meal we anticipated, but for the caviar I requested some vodka. We were given a clown's red nose which did not make much sense. We were then offered a poutine which may have been the most expensive poutine we have eaten in our lives. The next meal was a pork string hamburger, again, nothing special. I could have eaten the poutine and sandwich in a local La Belle Province restaurant for one-tenth of the price. We were then expecting some kind of steak as it was represented that this would be the next step in the meal. We were told to move to a room with a rustic maple syrup gathering decor and offered a miserable small piece of bread with duck flavor. This was indeed very disappointing as we were expecting a nice juicy steak! We were next whisked to another room to choose our dessert, which comprised of a large portion of fattening ice cream. We then returned to our table where we received a whopping bill for a real lousy meal. We left with our clown nose and a self-serving magazine. I think that the clown joke was on us. Extremely disappointing and exorbitant in price. There was no choice in the meal and altogether a gastronomic disaster

Dear Toddylica Thank your for your comment. We are truly sorry that you did not enjoy our 50$ Epicure Land menu , maybe the gastronomic experience would have been more adapt to your expectation. We are always trying to offer different menu and experience for our customer. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you another time.

An exceptional moment, a great discovery in this marvelous city. A journey for the senses and taste buds throughout the meal with an unforgettable blend of flavors. A big Bravo to the chef and his brigade as well as the waiters and sommelier for their courtesy, humor and professionalism. A restaurant that deserves the stars of the famous guide. Think about him, he fully deserves it!

Sitting next to the dish, facing the street and pedestrians, let's say the atmosphere was ordinary and entertaining. The service is certainly choreographing but soulless and too fast, we could have 4 glasses of wine on the table and not have finished eating the first service. The decoration of some dishes is repetitive, because, they found the molds to make leaves...I do not necessarily recommend the restaurant for enthusiasts, foodies, yes, there are beautiful finds but without more for us.

I feel compelled to share my recent experience at a once-beloved restaurant. The food remains exceptional, as it always has been. However, I must confess that this establishment has undergone quite a transformation since my last visits. To my astonishment, as the dinner drew to a close, I found myself dining in close proximity to what appeared to be a group of scouting escorts. It is truly disheartening to see that this place seems to have lost control over the prestigious selection of their guests. The experience truly left both me and my companions feeling incredibly uncomfortable. The ambiance that once exuded elegance and sophistication has been tarnished by this recent encounter. It's truly a shame to witness such a decline in standards. As a result, I can no longer endorse this restaurant as a suitable venue for a special occasion dinner with your spouse. I understand that every establishment goes through changes, yet this particular establishment seems to have taken a wrong turn. It is crucial to maintain a specific level of decorum, dignity and regard for all guests and, it is imperative to openly share our experiences honestly, so others can make informed decisions. I sincerely hope that the management takes heed of this feedback and implements necessary measures to rectify the dress code, ensuring a refined atmosphere at Jerome Ferrer Restaurant Europea, a dining establishment that prides itself on its prestigious reputation. Until then, it is strongly suggested to reconsider choosing this venue for your upcoming special occasion. Numerous alternative options are available that can offer a significantly more comfortable and enjoyable high-end dining experience.

This was booked by a friend before the price increase of Dec. 1 so she was quite surprised to see the Bistro table was $120. per person, I was in shock. It apparently was about half the price this summer. You would think that for $120, tea or coffee is included. No. I paid $10.50 for one tea bag in a small tea pot. I think my friends even paid for their hot water. I admit I did not know what to expect as I am not from Montreal and was never able to open their menu on the web to even see the prices. I found it extremely expensive as the portions are all small, 'nouvelle cuisine' for sure and I would be surprised if the food itself was worth $25. It's definitely not the type of restaurant to go to if you are catching up with friends and are not there specifically for a 'unique' dining experience. We were not overly impressed by the food, different presentations and did not comment on it to the waiters as patrons probably usually do. Thankfully, we did not have the blue cheese in the shoe that some reviews mentioned. As one reviewer wrote, the timing between the courses is short and we were constantly interrupted by the waiters coming and going and explaining the food and sometimes how to eat it as it was not always obvious. It got to be annoying. The staff was very nice and polite but it was not the right restaurant for our group that night. For me, it's a once in a lifetime experience and I can now check that off my bucket list as money not well spent in a very expensive restaurant.

Dear AnneMarieIngrid123 Thank you for your feedback. The price is not the same as this summer, we did change the menu and formule and also, with the Covid, the price of the food product increase 2-3 times. That explain why the price is not the same. The coffee and tea are not include in the menu, as the majority of the restaurant . We are a gastronomic Relais and Chateaux restaurant and there is a lot of courses, which is why the staff are giving explination.

The brasserie part is squeezed between the front door, the reception and the bar. The comings and goings and the noise are unbearable. Only a few tables, without tablecloths. The menu is simplistic (compared to that of the gastronomic section) but the prices are astronomical. The welcome and service are pretentious.

First rate food and service. Yes, a bit pricy, but for that special occasion well worth it. The eleven course tasting menu with wine pairings is a once in a life time experience. Each course was an amazing presentation and delight. The creative mixture of dishes were all unique with flavors you recognize, but never together in the selections. The wine pairings were a pleasant surprise, even if you prefer red over white or the opposite. Be careful, as American’s we failed to notice the tip was added, so that staff delighted in an extraordinary tip.

One night in Montreal, traveling for business. This place was on the other side of the street. “What the hack!”. All by myself, I want to indulge the experience! First floor of a glass building, restaurant and a brasserie. They are very clear since the beginning about their prices, and I appreciate it. Brasserie fully booked, ok for the restaurant. 9 courses for 185 CND$. I tried not to think about what I’d being to see in Africa and I sat at the table. Outstanding service! I started with onion soup, served into a real onion, very tasty. Then one (1) sage chip, good. After my carpaccio (I think it was!), power went off in the building! Light from the road filter throu the glass window, not a bad ambiance, after all. But the restaurant wasn’t operative. After a while customers started to leave. I stayed. Suddenly, power turned back. Waiters started to buzz back around, but…they forgot about me! So I asked for check, and they made me pay only a small amount. I maybe will come back, if I’d have the chance! My suggestion is to try. As I said, you only live once!

The chef is proposing a unique experience at the Europea. It is a « show » during which each plate is staged in an original manner and you will eventually even move in the restaurant, visiting the cuisine and … surprise. The show itself, the restaurant and the service is lovely, beautiful. But unfortunately the disappointment lies inside the plates. We did not enjoyed most of them, lacking taste to our opinion and being too simple : for instance the desserts (mainly an ice cream, a crep and few classic mini cakes you can find in a bakery). If you can afford the try (it is very expensive), you can take your chance, but be ready that eventually you will be disappointed.

I would have loved to love that restaurant, talked all over the place by locals and tourists. Staff is very welcoming and helpful, the restaurant is magnificent, with many decorating details interesting to look. However, to have 3 or 4 waiters is quite unusual and disturbing : you ask a request to one and the info does pass through. For instance, my wine, which is to be served during the 5th course, was served well before Moreover, personally, I enjoy a lot eating as an relevant and joyful evening experience of food discoveries. However, I do not appreciate to combine multi-media kind of show with eating. 1 or 2 activities, instead of numerous (was that 8 ?) would have been largely sufficient to me. It took more than 3.5 hours to go through all courses, and I have no problem to enjoy a multi-course meal for 2 or 2.5 hours. My stomach told me I ate more than my fair share, a seldom feeling to me. Food itself : creative, great presentation. 2 meats lacked of taste, which is not what I expect of the level of restaurant. Thumbs up for seafood and desserts ! Many people love the whole experience, but I’m part of the minority who finds it’s too much. I prefer to be personally recognized by staff when I go to a place where I eat a few times a year than receiving general welcoming attention everyone receives. I understand the intention behind, but the goal was not reached or me nor my girlfriend. I am glad I tried the restaurant, but I have no intention of going back to that restaurant.

I love this experience. IT literally is a FULL sensory experience taste (not just taste but texture of foods), feel, smell, still visuals, moving visuals, sounds both from prep and the food in front of you and you even move! It was event very thoughtfully themed (though subtle) and EVERYTHING is thoughtful. We think they have to have a creative design team who chooses everything from the pictures on the wall to the cutlery. I recommend this as a UNIQUE dining experience. It would be a great special occasion place. I do Michelin star restaurants its my thing and this has been my favorite so far. I left there with endorphins abounding and if i had to describe it with one word it would be ‘delightful’.

Such a fun dining experience! One of the most fun dining experiences we’ve ever had. It will be hard not to compare this with other Michelin restaurants because it should be. For the value, this is AMAZING! I would imagine each season, there is a different experience. Since we’re in winter, the experience was like “At the cabin in the mountains”. You could smell the firewood smoke everywhere, which gives you that nice camp fire feel. The restaurant itself is very beautiful, high ceilings, sophisticated decor but imagine - At the Cabin. We chose the 8 course…not sure how anyone can do the 10 course. The serving of most courses was very generous. The main course is a full size course, which alone can be a meal itself! Amuse Bouche - Holy Cow!!! Talk about an introduction to the meal! “So glad you are here. Take off your coat, have a seat, get ready for an adventure.” describes the amuse bouche. This all happens before you even get your menu. You sit and you start eating immediately!!! This course had about 10 different mini courses. (Smoked salmon, mussels, 2 types of croquettes, Parmesan crisps, beef jerky, casava chips, truffle popcorn, scallops.) The amuse bouche was a tasting within a bigger tasting. So wild! It all started coming out super fast like rapid fire. As soon as someone dropped off one, another one came out. We both laughed during and after this course, a great way to making us feel welcomed and to let us know we’re going to have a lot of fun. I think about other tasting experiences where I feel a bit stiff and that was the total opposite at Jerome’s. I was laughing and wondering what’s next. Rest assure though, the rest of your meal is super relaxed and very well timed. Food overall was very good. Some of my favorites were the lobster cappuccino, duck dumplings, puff pastry, oil for breads, lobster claw soup, scallop, and the oyster. Oh the 8 courses, dessert does account for 3 of them. The first was savory into sweet. You get a little meat pie before you get your mini surprise dessert and ice cream. A very cute way to allow you to walk through the kitchen. When you return, Santa dropped off some gifts. A box of beautiful chocolates and a stocking with a couple of fun take homes. Next dessert course, a variety of baklavas, macarons, marshmallow, chocolate lollipops and cotton candy! Last dessert course, a crepe of course, if you still have any room left! The staff all did a great job being the best hosts and hostesses at this “cabin”. It’s not an easy job if anyone has ever hosted parties so to the staff…KUDOS! You worked very hard and it definitely shows!

We really enjoyed this restaurant. Busy, buzzy, excellent service and great food. What more can one say?! We loved the atmosphere. Despite the noise we could hear quite well (I have a hearing impairment so am very sensitive to this)

When my friend booked for a simple but classy dinner, he didn’t do his homework well so we were surprised when we arrived and sat on our table that it will be an 8 course meal. “Doesn’t matter, it’s our fault and let’s try this experience” we said. But the result was simply a disaster!; The couses were actually 11 not 8! The explanation and the timing between course an other are too short and fast. Staff were asked to be too nice but actually they only acted to be so. The reaction of the waitress was an unpleasant surprise when we said we'll not have wine but stick to the cocktail they served us. Presentation was too lavish. Believe it or not one of the couses (blue cheese picks was presented in a real leather shoe!! And we are supposed to like it and compliment the brillent ideas in presentation. The matching of the couses were too wrong which led my friend end same with me to having one of the worst sleeps at night of his / my life!!. Bill was too high $220 per person.Advice: don’t try it. You’ll regret.
