Our family ate here on a recent trip to Montreal. The portions are huge. Sharing is not a bad idea. The steaks and rack of lamb were excellent as was the Wedge salad (I'm a huge fan of them) and the twice-backed potatoes. If you're...a meat-and-potatoes person, this is the place for you.More

This is probably our third or fourth dining experience. They could up their customer service at the start. We were sent downstairs to wait…. Food is excellent but honestly there is too much and therefore understandably very expensive. 62$ for shrimp But 12 jumbo shrimp….

One of the best night out in a couple of years. You’ll need reservations. The salads were great, followed by the petite filet. Wide range of prices for a bottle of wine. Great desert and some sort of flambé after dinner drink at the table....Really a first class place.More

We just had one of the best take out meals ever. We ordered 3 meals (two rib steaks and one fillet). The product delivered was out standing. Everything was well packed, fresh and tasty. The steaks were large, well marbled and cooked very well. We...highly recommend for anyone who is not ready yet to go into a restaurant, but is longing for an outstanding meal.More

Really a 4.5… My boyfriend decided to take me here for Valentine’s Day dinner this year, mainly because I had never been to this restaurant… Our reservation was for 6pm. Walking in, I loved the cozy decor right away - super important to me -...but I was really taken aback by how many small children were there… on a school night and Valentine’s Day… kids talking loudly, singing and crawling in the floor… is there a shortage of babysitters in town, lol. As the evening went by (we left a little past 8), most if not all of these guests left and the atmosphere changed considerably. So next time, I’d probably make a reservation around 7pm, if possible - it might make a difference. Other than that, our evening was perfect. The food was amazing, and the service excellent. We both had the filet mignon, mine done blue and served with the Monte Carlo baked potato- the meat was like butter and the vegetables were perfect. Amazing warm bread loaf and even the salad was good, and I’m not a salad fan at all. I had the chocolate mousse for dessert and it was delicious too. 11/10 for the food! Worth every penny. Live also how they did not rush service at all. When we left around 8 the line up for a table was almost out the door but not once did the wait staff make us feel like we had to hurry to leave. 10/10 for service! Overall, loved it and I would want to go back ❤️ Thank you for a great Valentines Day!More

This was a great experience. The service was excellent and the food was wonderful. Love the bread and pickles. Recommend the 15” Sirloin New York cut. I ordered it medium rare and it came out perfectly, and it kept throughout.

For a steakhouse this place needs to be shut down. They don’t know how to cook a steak. Had to send mine back two times until I gave up. The cost is completely out of range. For their prices you would think you are going...to receive gold on a plate but rather what you will get is some dried out veggies, stale pickles and cheap cheap cheap tableware. Take a pass on this place. Gibbys = crap. Stay far far away from this old dump.More

We came from Ontario and were celebrating special occasion as we have in past. My mistake was being convinced by server that an 8 oz filet could be done medium well as he stated they do it all the time. He was right, it was...med well after 3rd try. A group of 6 guys who were drunk and dressed for rough bar were seated next to us. A couple of them were loud and used Fbombs all over the place. A party of three also beside us complained to the manager and they did quiet down for a few minutes and then restarted. We then complained to server who contacted mgr and offered us a free dessert. As it continued on ruining our evening my wife went over pounded on their table and told them what would their mother think. Lol. They quieted down and we left shortly after. I emailed restaurant stating our dissatisfaction and they responded apologizing and explaining it is a problem removing these people. I see their point but it ruined evening for more than us. Never againMore

A group of business execs from the US visited and we were looking for a place to treat them with some of the best Montreal could offer and Gibbys was recommended. I personally enjoy Downtown Montreal and all the culture in the area. We thoroughly...enjoyed Gibbys: great service, food, wine. We now have fond memories and I highly recommend Gibbys!More

I don't believe so but I recommend calling them directly and asking before your visit. For reference they had a great wine and cocktail list.

Gibby's has no children's menu. Few times have I seen children there. If your child can eat meat, seafood, it should be okay. Nonetheless, am sure they can put something special. Or, just call Gibby's to be sure. You will... More
