We had a pre-booked breakfast at this place, connected to Lord Berri Hotel next door No greetings, no info, no nothing except tepid tasteless coffee, chemical orange juice and bread-butter basis. The rest was extra (which we would have ordered provided we knew some extra were available). Don't go, unless you want to experience a grumpy waiter.

Waited ages to get a menu, waited ages to order, waited ages to get food. Poorly cooked pasta, part of order wrong (spaghetti not penne). Garlic bread which was supposed to be a starter arrived as we were finishing the main course.

This cozy restaurant nooked into a comfortable corner of Hotel Lord Berri serves the hotel patrons with excellence. Good food, caring staff, and a diverse menu is a strength of this place.

The "best wife of all" had the crazy idea to eat mussels in Montreal. So I googled and found this place in walking distance to our hotel. The mussels were half warm, some of them really cold. I ordered Linguini alla rabiata and I swear that the sauce came out of a Costco jar! We'll not coming back! We promise!

Great cappuccino and espresso. Atmosphere was quiet and relaxing with good music in the background. TV on playing sports. Good service. We didn't order food but would consider next time after observing what others ordered and received.

Stayed at the Hotel Lord Berri upstairs and was forced to eat breakfast here as part of the hotel's bed and breakfast deal. The staff made you feel as if serving you was unpleasant which made for a terrible breakfast atmosphere. If we'd known this beforehand, we would've saved our money and gone to one of the smaller cafes in... More

Food was good, service was OK. Came here because it was close to or hotel, and it was late night. Nothing too good, nothing too bad, just average.

We went to "Il Cavaliere" restaurant last Saturday night and we enjoyed our diner. This restaurant is a two steps of Berri-Uquam metro station, on Berri street and perfect if you go to see a show on "Théâtre St-Denis" or go walking on St-Denis/ Ste-Catherine streets. The restaurant is also reliated to an hotel. If you stay there, you could... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
