I went there yesterday, and it was completely empty. Brown paper on the windows. Very disappointed, as i had been looking forward to it all week, and have gone every time i go back home to Montreal.

I went to this restaurant with one of my friends twice. the food is good, the decoration is beautiful, the service a little bit slow but nothin anoying. they let you bring your own wine, so you can save some cash. I really recommend this place.

There was lots of people eating outside here as we walked by so thought to give it a try. Wished I checked Trip advisor first. We started with the vegetable soup which was actually pretty good. The main courses came after with mini carrots and rice. I ordered the steak medallions medium rare - they came out blue raw. When... More

My friend & I went for the 2 for 1 special. For almost 2 1/2 hours we were the only two there. My chicken was good and I was happy with it. My Friend had food that did not smell good at all. She ate at a few pieces then said I would like to take the rest home. As... More

I ended up at this restaurant last Friday hoping i'd get a good meal for my Bday, what a disappointment!!! I got their steak and lobster plate where the lobster tail was still with its shell / seriously undercooked making it a real unpleasant texture in my mouth, tasteless and yucky summed it up. The steak was overcooked while i... More

It may just be the joy of eating outside but my wife and I didn't find one restaurant in Montreal to be lacking and La Caverne Grecque was no exception. They are located on a busy side street off St. Denis and seemed to be a very neighbourhood area. We both had good meals and the service was good. It... More

...unless the names used for menu dishes is what will qualify someone from naming the restaurant 'Greek'. Everything seemed 'plastic' and prepared in advanced by someone with no knowledge or passion for Greek flavours. The Taramosalata was sitting all day, uncovered, in a fridge in the same container it was served in, giving it a discusting crusty cover on top.... More

We ate dinner here tonight and it turned out to be a delightful place. All of ordered various Greek dishes, and all were flavorful. The lamb chops were cooked medium instead of rare, but still tender and with good flavor. All of the portions were generous and the total bill for four, including tip, was a reasonable $85.00. I did... More

We frequent the city on day-trips and occasional overnights. This place always delivers. The staff are wonderful, and you always know what to expect. Especially wonderful when warm to sit out front and people watch while enjoying a bottle of your favorite wine or alcohol you bring with you (or purchase from one of the convenience stores close by). There's... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
