The service is friendly, and the food is quite fine. The restaurant garden, however, is a must to enjoy. The ambience is romantic and almost European in atmosphere. On the many occasions that we've been there, during the summer, there is live music. This is a wonderful addition to the already pleasant surrounding. Although I realize that food is key,... More

The location is awesome and when there's outdoor entertainment it's even better. The food isn't great but it's a great place to grab a drink and enjoy one of the nicest terraces in Montreal.

The food is great, the service is fantastic the atmosphere is relaxing with the jazz band playing softly. The dry Martinis are a must if naturally you like the drink.

I love this place. The venue is excellent, especially when sitting outside watching the world go by. The food is gorgeous, beautifully presented, served by well briefed friendly staff and good value. We went twice in two days and loved it.

The location is great and the atmosphere in the outdoor courtyard is really nice, but that is it. The place tends to be extremely crowded with people waiting in line to get in whenever the weather is suitable. The service is OK and the food is not so special. So maybe good for one visit.

Food is not the gretest...but enjoy a drink and eventually some chips on their terrace is not bad. Lunch is so so as is dinner. Much better places in the Old Port to eat some good food.

I lived across the street for 4 years and went there for the admosphere, music and a dink. It is a nice place. Don't even consider eating there: even their breakfasts are bad. I tried brunch, lunch and dinner. The food was consistently BAD.

This is always a favorite place in Old Montreal, right at the very heart of the very accessible Place Jacques-Cartier.

Location is great and it's an excellent spot to sit out doors, rain or shine. Usually busy so reservations are recommended. Food is good, traditional sort of menu. Great for parties.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
