I have visited The Keg multiple times and its always good. Regardless of your food tasting, you will find your craving : Burgers, salads, steaks, fish, seafood. In the summertime they have whole lobster or steak and turf. The entrees are always good as well as the desert: creme Brulee is my favorite. The location is perfect, situated close to... More

We had bacon wrapped filet, and 2 sirloins with asparagus and the asiago rice. While there was a mix up in the preparation of the steak, both the server and management were very accommodating and took care of us. The asparagus was cooked perfectly and the steaks were flavorful and tender. I rarely eat a whole steak, but I finished... More

Your typical steak house... This is your standard chain restaurant. Nothing special about the food. Atmosphere is boring, but new cause of a fire that took place 5 years ago about. However. At night the bar is a great spot. With its red leather chairs, dark setting it feels very relaxed and comfortable. some tvs so watch the gamr, it's... More

The Keg presented itself here as expcted: selective menue, great modern ambiance and outstanding service. This time I had a Filet Mignon (The Keg Classics) - BUT: I did a mistake as a non native speaker: I ordered it "medium raw" - however the cute pretty waitress understood "medium well" (my colleague as well!) - and I should have said... My son and I went her for dinner as we were in the city for a mini spring break vacation. I chose the restaurant because I have always liked the Keg and they had a childrens menu. The staff were amazing, the food as always was delicious and it was a great place just to hang with my son.

Because we are not fluent in French (sadly), we were worried about finding gluten free options in Montreal. This place was terrific! Then menu had many clearly marked options, and the waitstaff was absolutely determined to make sure we had what we needed. We chose a seafood (Atlantic salmon) and a steak/seafood option, and both were wonderful. The room itself... More

A memorable evening at The Keg in Old Montreal. We were a party of 3 to celebrate a birthday with good steaks and whatever our hearts desire. The restaurant has a nice vibe, our server was very knowledgeable on the steak selections. The Starters (Calamari and the Baked Brie) were both yummy-delicious. The three steaks (Keg Classic Top Sirloin, Filet... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
