This restaurant has been a solid presence in Montreal for 30+ years and are now in a new location. It's been under the same family ownership since it first opened its doors and the owner greets you when you walk in. It has a vibe of the old-school New York Italian family hospitality (without the mob feel) but it's not dated. The food is fresh and delicious and the owner and his staff attentive and gracious without being intrusive. Can't wait to go back!

We asked a local for a recommendation and this did not disappoint!! The restaurant was right in Old Montreal, just steps from our fav coffee shop. The restaurant was beautiful, tucked into the building ….elegant. Table settings were beautiful. The green salads were the freshest….and served with complementary bruschetta that was seasoned perfectly. Olive oil was the finest. Our pasta dishes were authentic; penne romanoff and linguini carbonara. Portions were very generous for even the most hungry. We followed with cannoli which was also of finest quality and authentic with crispy outside and perfect creamy inside with mini chips. Soooo good. Don’t miss this jewel. It is pricey, but workers every dollar!

We take an annual mini holiday to Montreal just to savor its excellent food. We found this gem by sheer luck and it was the best restaurant we have visited there. It is rare that a restaurant achieves a perfect score on atmosphere, service and food quality. Le Muscadin achieves all three. It is rare to find any business that focuses on doing the little things right from hand slicing prosciutto at your table to handing the ladies a rose on the way out. We both had the table d'hote and started off with the pasta appetizer. My wife had the shrimp and asparagus risotto while I had the veal scallopini. Both dishes were outstanding. My wife claimed the tiramisu was best she has eaten. The only drawback was that we found this gem on the last day of our holiday.

Family owned restaurant for generations. The staff is friendly, inviting and accommodating...and make you feel right at home. The menu has Southern Italian influence with recipes from Sicily and Calabria. There were so many delicious options but chose the short rib special (at Josie's recommendation). It was fantastic. The portions are generous. Highly recommended!

We hadn't been to Le Muscadin in several years. Have we ever missed out! The service, food, and atmosphere is worth the price. We had the barley soup, meatballs, the seafood risotto, and the penne in a rosee-pepper sauce. All was wonderful. We will return.

Excellent food and atmosphere. They were very accommodating to my gluten free needs and so friendly and welcoming.
I had the seafood pasta and it was perfect! The spaghetti noodles were also perfect (which is important if you have to eat GF).
The atmosphere was unpretentious and all staff were attentive and pleasant.

I have lived in Italy for many years and everytime I come to visit family in Montreal the number one item on my to-do list is come eat at Le Muscadin. Italy re-incornated in Montreal. The service, the ambience, the furniture and art. But above all what really is important is the food and the pride of the ownership for the care and detail in presenting the food that you will ultimately eat and pay for. Will you remeber your time there and wish to come back and also tell others or not. We, as consumers all take pride in finding our own little gem, especially whne in comes to food. Le Muscadin is MY LITTLE Montreal gem and not only I look forward to return at least twice while in town, but just as importantly in recommending it to my fellow foodies whenever I am asked to recommend a good Italian restaurant in Montreal. Whatever is your fav plate you will be amazed by the dish. Truly unique.
Great wine list of many private impoprts as well.
Josie the owner, Johnny, Jimmy and Leo the mentor of the group who first founded Le Muscadin 30 yrs. ago are unparreled in the industry.

Just the sort of personal touch that is hard to find these days. Owner gave everything a fine touch. Fun and jovial personality. Atmosphere was cozy in sense that it was full of couples and families. Servers were excellent, knowledgable, and genuinely friendly. Interior was basic but clean and intimate. Food was unbelievably tasty & fresh.

Incredible experience. They even made the Covid passport check experience enjoyable.
From the moment you’re greeted to the time you leave, you feel welcome, and your business is appreciated.
We just had a dreadful experience the night before at Vieux Port, so they really helped to end our trip on the highest note possible.
The food was excellent, with service to match all the way from the owner to the bus staff.
And who doesn’t love wine classes as big as your face!

We went to this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday with family member. We have about 15 persons. Reserved the long table a month in advance, Excellent Italian food and price is reasonable. Very friendly hostess by the name Josie Iacono. There was a fantastic guitar soloist to entertain you and sang whatever song you requested. We ate for over 2 hours and my wife enjoyed every minute. My compliment also to Josie's father who is the owner and fine gentlement. Highly recommend this place even if you are small group or couple.

The best! This was my first meal at Le Muscadin and it won’t be my last. Everything was absolutely delicious. Service was welcoming, friendly, and professional. Bruschetta, salad, risotto with perfectly cooked scallops, and a cannolo!

Booked last minute but, being Halloween, there was lots of availability. It was by far the best & most enjoyable meal in 3 full days in Montreal. Lovely attentive welcome from the owner & his family & staff who could not have been more friendly or helpful. The menu & wine list were superb and the food was utterly delicious. We both had the Menu Of The Day which offered good value & interesting choices. The Involitini Di Melanze & Vitello Del Giorno were especially good. Try the several wines by the glass too to complement the courses. Highly recommended & excellent central location.

Our party fully enjoyed our dining experience. The food was EXCELLENT. The service OUTSTANDING. The experience was as if you had been invited to your Sicilan friend’s grandparents home for a formal Italian dinner. White linen table cloths and perhaps decor from the 90’s?

Wow, this was truly a phenomenal dining experience. Not only was the reception great, but the food was even greater. A nice selection of wines, and drinks, and the menu had some Italian classics and some twists. Can't wait to go back again.

The space was warm and inviting the service super friendly and the food was delicious
I have never had caramelized burrata before but certainly hope to again Seafood pasta with squid huge shrimp and miniature clams had not only a half dozen clams in their shells but there were tons of mini clam bellies in the pasta.
Pasta amatriciana is one of my favorites and perfectly prepared The fish special was grade yellow tail tuna and was heavenly
A bottle of 2020 valopelicella ripssdo made the dinner complete
