The restaurant is small, which adds to its charm, and its room is a bit basic but bright and inviting. The food is exceptional, the Fixed Award menu offers a superb value for money, the service is friendly, relaxed and courteous and finally, you can bring a good wine of your choice! Hard to ask for better! We recommend without reservation! Congratulations to the team!

For a couple’s meal on a Saturday at 5 p.m. Heartwarming welcome. Small but decent table. Hearty and above all very delicious meal (bread and pâté, soup, starter, trou normand, meal, dessert, coffee) for a bill of $130 before taxes and tip. We took our time. Departure around 7:30 p.m. was perfect. Steak cooked beautifully and duck delicious. Originality of presentation on the plate. I would go back tomorrow without hesitation! Congratulations to the owner and employees for an impeccable experience at a reasonable price for a restaurant in 2023.

Absolutely fabulous! We had an early reservation for 5:00 pm. They opened the door precisely at 5:00 pm and welcomed us with a big smile. They gave us a great table in the corner and accommodated us on every level. Our waiter was a young man who spoke English well (our French was minimal) and who was very enthusiastic. The food was perfectly prepared, delicious and not overly salty. We ordered the bison, the beef short ribs and the swordfish. The portions were generous. The salad was fresh. The desserts were perfect. The music was not too loud (we could hold a normal conversation). The full-course meal was honestly price. And the bathroom was spotless. We couldn't have asked for more! What a great welcome to Montreal!!

Le Pegase is EXCEPTIONAL!! We were up in Montreal for business (from Boston), and after the business meeting was over we went to Le Pegase for dinner after changing back at our hotel. What an incredible meal it was across the board! One price gets you appetizer, entree, and dessert. For the outstanding quality of the food, it's a bargain and a half. And that's the thing - the food could not be bettered! I had the lamb in the mustard sauce, and it was UNBELIEVABLE. Le Pegase gives its guests exceptional French food, lovingly prepared, unpretentiously delivered, in the first floor of a house that has been turned into a restaurant. There's not a single thing that could have been improved upon. We plan to return on future Montreal visits. Pegase is DEFINITELY worth going out of one's way for.

With a couple of friends who had offered us this property, we went to dinner on that Friday night. Located in the heart of the Plateau Mont Royal, the place is rather difficult to access and parking is rare for non-residents. Fortunately, the property owner had provided us with a vignette... In what was quite possibly a residence, the Pegasus has two small dining rooms and a small terrace at the back. The place is clean, well lit with rather sober furnishings. The service was very well done by very nice young hosts. The owner watched over the grain with the same kindness. The menu of this "Bring Your Wine" is made of some suggestions of main dishes with a choice between soup or salad, then a choice between a few starters and finally some desserts. The culinary level being of a very good level and a beautiful variety, the seasonings and aromas we enjoyed there were exquisite. Each of us was very satisfied with his choices throughout the meal. The addition will have been consistent with this one.

Slick, cool, Damien has taken a townhome, with its nooks and crannies, painted the interior a brilliant white, installed perfect lighting, and created a culinary gem. Two important facts about this place, both positive forms of denial…and we ain’t talking about a river in Egypt…it is BYOB, so you bring your favorite wine and the bill is much lower than normal, and you are NEVER asked “how would you like that”…because it is perfectly prepared and presented. The ambiance is hip(yes, I am that old), ok…cool…dope. The food could not be better prepared(I cook a lot), and the evening was such a pleasant find in a residential area. And that Damien…as a former (25 years)retail business owner, I saw someone who cares to run a business enthusiastically well, making it a pleasure for everyone including himself…it is called pride.

The room is small and the meal is small but creative. Every course was delicious. The short rib was particularly memorable. The service was helpful and attentive. The restaurant is BYOB. Parking near the restaurant is a challenge. The restaurant let us use a parking permit while we dined, for a fee.

Lets face it: its about the food, but its mostly about the ambiance. Service is a big part of the ambiance: it can make or break an otherwise fine gustatory experience. Well, at Le Pégase, owner Michael Audet-Laparé created the real deal. He takes the reservations, welcomes & serves you. As usual, let’s start from the beginning: rather unassuming from the outside. It’s a hole in the wall, buried in the depths of the Plateau. Blink and you won’t realize you’ve passed it, on Gilford Street. When you walk in, you immediately notice that it used to be a cold water flat, transformed into a restaurant. So far so good: unpretentious (although the linen napkins & the wine glasses etched with the restaurant’s logo signal that you’re not just in any hole-in-the wall). The place only seats 38 people, so: best to reserve in advance. French music in the background (and yes: “in the background” – not overpowering). Soaking up the atmosphere gives you time to appreciate their menu, filled with rare delicacies like bison medallion & doe filet. If you don’t like the idea of eating bambi for dinner, there are plenty of other options. We chose the beet soup (hearty & with a delicious aroma) escargots with spinach & blue cheese (fantastic), and the plat de résistance: sturgeon. Not the little filet you might expect – two big hearty cubes of it, served with leak compote, some shrimps and the cutest little puff of crème fraîche. Dessert was an assortment of cheeses (generous portions) & a “mourir de chocolat” which is still in our doggy bag. About the prices: not cheap, but not prohibitive either. It’s also BYOB, which brings it down to a reasonable tab. Chalk this one up to high end middle of the road. And the big plus is that, contrary to most restaurants who will skimp by serving you the usual boring crème caramel as the obligatory table d’hôte dessert, at Le Pégase, you get to chose whichever dessert you want on the menu as part of your table d’hôte. And now, for the clou de la soirée: owner Michael Audet Laparé. Warm & welcoming. Unobtrusive presence, but happy to chat with you if you’re so inclined. This guy has service down pat. His presence makes the place! Le Pégase was our inaugural 2020 “every sunday” dinner & long may it continue

A fine place for a special evening. Food lovingly prepared and offered. Excellent service. Fair prices. Limited choice but quite acceptable. Well and enthusiastically explained. BYOB so more reasonable overall. Very artistic presentation. Quantity more than necessary sometimes too much of a good thing ( eg calf liver too big a portion) Exotic Overall a fun place to be and to dine!

The soup, appetizer, main meat dish, and dessert were all excellent. The staff were friendly and worked briskly and professionally in a full restaurant. By 6:30pm the restaurant was already full. It's no wonder it's so popular. The restaurant is casual yet elegant, making it a comfortable place to spend time. They don't serve alcohol, so if you want to drink wine or other drinks you'll need to bring your own. I highly recommend going if you visit Montreal.

Excellent dining experience. My partner and I are both foodies and we were delighted with everything! Bring your own wine with no corkage fee. The service was excellent. The ambiance was nice and quiet, although there was not an empty table. We will most definitely return!

Truly remarkable restaurant! Carefully prepared, delicious, fine dining offerings in a relaxed and friendly setting. Everything was delicious, but you cannot miss the savory profiteroles! We will be back, and often!

Tonight we enjoyed our 2nd French dinner at Montreal - PEGASE! Bring your own bottle BYOB without corkage fee! First course: Turnip Soup - creamy and delicious; would be better to add two pieces of croutons or tarragon! Salad with Roasted Sweet Peppers purée, simple and yummy 😋 Second Course: 1) Tuna, Mango Tataki - excellent! 2) Escargots w mushrooms ragù on Garlic Bread - heavenly! 3) Foie Gras w/ sweated onion and peacan - creative, tasting and generous, would be better to have a hint of brandy 😅 Main: 1) Duck Breast - tender and juicy, delicious! 2) Rack of Lamb w split pea mash - excellent, cook to perfection! 3) Medallions of Female Deer Steak - gigantic portion, tasty but gamy as it should be! Raymond couldn’t finish all 😂 Desserts: 1) Rice Pudding w Passion Fruit Sauce - yummy! 2) Lemon Tart, dashed w ginger cream - so refreshing! 3) Chocolate Mousse - homemade, rich and creamy, excellent! David is our server! Excellent services! All dishes are well prepared and so creative, choices of main course include different and special kinds of meat! Overall, big portions, excellent taste, great prices! My chef husband rated PEGASE as the must-try restaurant here in Montreal 🥰

Came here for dinner with my partner, on a double dinner date with another couple. It's a small place that appears to have been a former first floor of a residence, but well-lit, well-decorated and welcoming enough! The food was excellent -- we started off with bread, some butter and foie gras to go with it. We all ordered different things, but everyone went with the table d'hote (which means you get a soup or salad, choice of appetizer, choice of main dish, then a choice of dessert. Wine was "bring your own", so that helped to lower the cost, which is already quite reasonable for all these courses. For the appetizers, we tried the profiteroles, tartar, foie gras and veal ravioli. All were excellent, and my foie gras was really good, with toasted brioche, two kinds of coulis, and caramelized onions. For the main dishes, we ordered the daily fish with risotto, beef, bison and duck. All good, according to my companions, and my duck was soooo good. Good portion, perfectly cooked with a good bit of pink (which I like), with raisin and hazelnut polenta (?) and some greens and root veggies. Dessert was also good, ranging from cheesecake to tarts and creme brulees (though my partner did not like his tart, oh well). It was relatively affordable for a date night, thanks to the BYOW option, and the service was good and unobtrusive. We also liked the fact that the owner/chef came out a couple times to check on everyone -- a good sign of a good restaurant in my view. A real hidden gem of a neighbourhood resto, so glad to have found and tried it, and will definitely come back again.
