My husband and I made a last minute reservation to Maestro SVP because we were craving oysters. Well, we were thrilled with the choices, and though some were pricey, the Malpeques were affordable and amazing. The clam chowder was exceptional, and as an East coaster,...that is saying a lot. The owner Ilene served us and we had such a great dinner experience thanks to her and her amazing staff. Yes it costs a lot to eat a fine, exceptional seafood meal in Montreal, but here you get excellent service, quality seafood and a great ambience. The only dish I wasn’t crazy about was the steamed clamsMore

Wide selection of seafood to choose from. Most customers come for the oysters. I found Eileen to be witty and knowledgeable. She runs a tight ship and was accommodating to our requests. We will definitely return.

Unfortunately a bad experience: Went there for the oysters they are known for and seafood in general. Food turned out to be mediocre at best, but absolutely overpriced. The Oyster selection was okay, rather poor advice by the waiter (the owner) , she touched one...of the oysters with her fingers when she served them. Rockefeller was okay, the fried octopus tasted like frozen food. The Louisiana seafood plate was too salty and far too much pepper. The other main dish, pasta with shrimps, was again super salty and also too much lemon on it. In addition the service wasn’t really good. The owner rather chatted with her workers then pay attention to the guest, served the food in the wrong order and we had to ask twice repeatedly for orders. But when it came to the bill she educated us on tipping. We didn’t even spent an hour at the restaurant, I gave her 20 dollars despite being super unhappy about the bad service and she nearly cursed at us. Super ungrateful! My advice stay away.More

This is a seafood restaurant and that is what we ate. We were happy with the menu choices and the execution of the dishes. The service was especially friendly. It's a storefront that has been nicely dressed up.

A really cute restaurant in Old Montreal. We were wondering along looking for some good options when we came across Maestro SVP. The vibe was good so we gave it a shot. The Salmon Tartare was terrific. Portion was a little small. The Louisiana Seafood...was fantastic. The Scallops were very good, but very small.More

We’ve visited some great restaurants for seafood and this restaurant did not disappoint. We had raw oysters to start and an amazing cooked seafood platter that we shared. We will definitely be back.

The service was good, great cocktails. We had mussels with blue cheese which was a big leap for me mixing such a strong cheese with seafood - they were wonderful Nice relaxed vibe.

First time dining at Maestro SVP. . I had the most delicious grilled salmon with veggies and a trio of creme brulles, each with different flavors (rhum, Baileys, Lavendar) EVERYthing was fabulous, including the service and atmosphere!

I’m very disappointed in the owner Ilene very rude and unprofessional and unfriendly. Food was cold and, very expensive. There are better restaurants for you, to go to when you are visiting In town. Don’t waste your time and money.More

I can't say if the oysters are fresh, or if the beer is cold or if the wine is good; they never offered us anything. Since we arrived, after minutes of waiting to find out if there was a table available or not, a lady...in a very bad way replied, "look for a table outside". I accepted the abuse because my wife really wanted to eat oysters. We sat down and for 20 minutes waited to be taken care of, and despite asking three times to be served, nothing happened. This is an exception in Montreal. Although in most of bars and restaurant have young students as servers, not professional waiters, the people are courteous and friendly; this lady really was nasty. The variety of oysters in the menu is impressive, which makes it even more necessary a good service, who serves you in an integral way. And if you add to that that the prices are not economic, even more so as not to lose the investment. Simply put, I recommend avoiding taking the risk with this site.More

We waited and waited for menus only to be told after half an hour that their menu was online only, great start. We should have left then. Long story short the food was way over priced for what it was and the service was appalling....I will never eat there again and I do not recommend this place at all.More
