Like the other reviewers who regretted ordering the dim sum special for 2, we thought the special was too starchy and fried, the broccolini brown sauce as way too salty. If only we had read the reviews first! The dining room as large, we went at dinner time and the room was mostly empty. The service was quick, and friendly.... More

This place is really great at lunch time. Waiters walk around with carts full of traditional chinese food and you pick what seems interesting. Great place to try out new foods and to discover new tastes.

We ordered 4 dishes and were not disappointed. They were all tasty if not inspired. Service was rapid and excellent. Salt and Pepper Shrimp is recommended as is the Hot and Sour soup. Orange wedges and fortune cookies at the end of the meal are a very nice touch.

Need a good luck to get in for a seat on weekends, long queue! I always leave msg ok to share table, ok to sit at any aisle, so that we won't need to have a long wait. Always with hungry kids!

We walked in as a large group on Friday afternoon and were seated right away. The food carts stopped consistently and the servers were nice. The food was delicious!

Large and spacious restaurant can accommodate large groups. Service is very cordial, efficient, and in both French and English. Extensive menu, the food is well prepared and served, no complaints. Decor is a bit outdated and the restaurant requires you to walk inside a commercial complex to an upper level. Parking is a bit difficult in this area of the... More

My favorite place for Dim Sums in Montreal. The place gets really busy around noon so be sure to show up early.

This was the place to go I was told. So I did. Ordered the advertised special assorted dim sum for 2 ($48). Starting eggrolls were over fried and dry. I could not distinguish the contents? The lobster claws were a "glob" of tasteless starch. It seemed the appetizers were pre-cooked and waiting to be served. (Arrived cold and quickly). The... More

Love the dim sum and dinner here. Make sure your dim sum tab is correctly calculated. I've had three occasions of bad math - overcharged. Otherwise, this a great place to dine.

We made the mistake of wanting dim sum for dinner. The combo for two is really not worth the price, not enough dumplings or rice. The taste of the rice was excellent though and most of the dumplings were very good. We'll have to come back when the carts are rolling through the aisles. But next time, we'll just stick... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bakeries, markets, restaurants, and buffets crowd the brightly graffitied streets of Chinatown, the city's aromatic destination for pan-Asian cuisine. Distinguished at its entry points by towering vermillion paifang gates, the compact neighbourhood acts as a focal point for the Chinese community, hectic with educational facilities, cultural centres, acupuncturists, and foreign-language newspapers. Especially vibrant in the warmer months, when the sweet smell of dragon beard candy along the pedestrian walks of Rue de la Gauchetière signal the beginning of the outdoor street fair season, Chinatown is a treasure hunter's dream, with enough knickknack and curiosity shops to tempt even the pickiest shoppers. The convivial vibe picks up after dark, when the area's active nightlife offers evening crowds their choice of drink, dance, and midnight snacks of pho or oysters. Chinatown's mix of new and old, with herbal remedies being sold alongside pop-culture DVDs, gives the area its own animated brand of moxie.
