This restaurant offers excellent food and great live music, Jazz upstairs and Blues downstairs, at a reasonable price. The food was beautifully prepared with something to please everyone. The service was terrific and the atmosphere fun and enjoyable for all.

I ate at Modavie last evening with 2 colleagues and had a wonderful experience. It started with the Maitre D'Hotel, Lorenzo. He was very helpful in ensuring we found the seating we desired and was very gracious and welcoming. Our server was a delight and...More

This is a great restaurant because of the layout, the food, the music but above all the staff. We had a great waitress, Marilyne, who gave us a really special evening. Thank you!

French bistro style dining in the heart of Old Montreal. Live music every night (jazz on the second floor, blues on the main floor). Terrific service, perfectly prepared dishes that are surprisingly reasonably priced. Our only issue was that when we were shown to our...More

The food is great, the service (Josiane) curated the experience for me very well. I also really appreciated where the hostess sat me as I was alone and she put me right in front of the band.

I went on a recommendation for a location with both music and food. Modavie was perfect. The hostess, who was lovely, set me up in the front row. The musician that night, Charles Dubuc, played some mean blues guitar. Francois S. took excellent care of...More

Outstanding service and fantastic food. Probably the best steak frites we've ever had. Our server was amazing--extremely friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

Somehow trip advisor always forwards future customers’ questions to raters rather than the restaurant itself!! Not sure what private dining means. It’s rustic and busy but if you get a window table, it could be romantic.

Rack of lamb is about $40 and it goes down from there. Not cheap, but well worth it.

Description
Seven nights a week, local bands take the stage at Montreal's hottest Jazz bar and bistro. Modavie's spirited setting sets the scene for a night of great tunes, top dining and generous pastis toasting. The bistro's far-reaching wine menu hits just the right notes and helps round off succulent lamb, fish, beef and inspired pasta dishes.
