We had an amazing lunch here and would really recommend it! Don't be fooled by the nondescript exterior, this is a place you must go for lunch in Montreal. We immediately felt welcomed and put at ease by the owner who was running the whole place by himself. There's not really a menu but he explained how it all worked.... More

For less than the price of a steak at other restaurants, you get a quinoa salad or homemade soup, an entrée of fish or meat, a dessert, and a hot coffe or tea. Come hungry, because you will be stuffed! I have never been to Peru, so I can't say how authentic this is. The owner speaks Spanish though, so... More

We went there for supper tonight (a couple in our mid-thirties with 2 preschool-aged children) Food was delicious and abundant, service was friendly and kind. Decor and ambiance are easy going and relaxed (brightly colored place, no actual menu, as options are explained verbally) Low cost was unbelievable, especially for the quality and quantity of food. I would recommend this... More

This is a great place to stop if you're traveling through midtown. (There is plenty of shopping and sight seeing nearby.) The food is authentic, reasonably priced, and delicious. In addition the owner, who is there everyday, is lovely. Note that it closes at 2PM!

This restaurant really took me back to being in Peru. Very delicious basic food on the menu. They also have vegetarian options and will make vegan upon request.

This was a great find today. Very basic restaurant, no menu but a few daily options. The price for lunch was $8 including a full vegetable soup (would have been enough for lunch), choice of fish, chicken or beef and a soft drink. Portions were huge. Great place to check out.

We NEVER would have gone in to the place, having just passed by, but my friend said we should meet there. It's a neat little place, where the owner is also the cook, waiter and bartender! It's a one man show! There's no menu, as you sit down he explains that the meal comes with soup, main dish and tea/coffee/soft... More

I had a hippy granola salad that had nothing to do with Peruvian cooking.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
