When we arrived the restaurant was full. Our reservation was behind so they asked us if we would like a drink at the bar. We were with a large party of 11 so we all went downstairs and there was no room at the bar. So ended up waiting upstairs by the front door. It is a beautiful place, decorated... More

Dear Christine C, thank you for joining us, and sharing your experoience. Unfortunately it seems that this Steakhouse was not in your budget and you have shared that with us in your own words. We at the La Queue de Cheval Steakhouse have prided our selves for SERVICE and QUALITY that is above the expectations of our guests , and... More

Had dinner here one night last month. Steak was very good...maybe not quite up to a top NYC steakhouse, but very good nevertheless. Service was excellent, the waiters were efficient and went out of their way to make you feel at home in their establishment. This is not a cheap place to dine as it is priced like a high-end... They absolutely smashed us on wine cost and the overall bill. They felt they had a non price sensitive out of town group who would not be back. Management was argumentative and not responsive to our concerns. Food was simply marginal. I would not recommend this place to anyone

Dear Mr. Markhicks Thank you for joining us at the steakhouse, but your concerns of us trying to "smash you" with wine and other issues is a concept that we do not practice, but more importantly our guests that visit or frequent, usually would have gone to our web site to see what we are about, and all the info... The sweetbreads were delicious. I made a reservation and was told the bar was reserved and I said I was OK with the dining room. When I arrived I was again told the bar was reserved and that I would be more comfortable in the dining room. I thought we had already discussed this topic. When I told my waiter... More

This restaurant takes their business seriously! It starts as you walk in and go by the glass wall meat ageing room. You are then greeted and taken to your table. The decor is exciting yet elegant. From there on a decadent culinary feast begins. The waiter are all truly professionals. Fresh cuts (meat, seafood) of the daily specials are presented... More

My wife and I were in the mood for steak and we chose La Queue de Cheval. We were politely and professionally treated by the valet and upon entering the restaurant the hostesses were also very pleasant and welcoming. Not an easy task to be upscale, yet comfortably inviting. The restaurant had a great vibe and we knew we were... More

My brother and I went to eat here our first night in Montreal. We ended up getting the Big Lou's steak it was really good cut of meat. They will bring the steaks out for you to see before they put them on the grill. The steak was cooked well and we got french fries as well with our meal.... More

The restaurant is theatrical almost. The waiters and supporting staff were all eccentric and animated. Made for memorable night. You feel encompassed by service and attention, while somehow being able to feel alone with your friends. the space is very accommodating. The drinks are excellent as well

The meal was delicious, staff was very friendly and service oriented. The price tag is a bit too high, but we enjoyed our meal very much.

Booked dinner after the hockey game. Managed to get seats even though no reservation and quite busy. Service is top notch, nice location. Found prices a little on the high end, most noticeable for cocktails. Paid close $100lb d=for the stone crab but they are seasonal and well worth the try!! Steak was very good and we enjoyed our meal... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
