Wow....their sandwiches are amazing and HUGE. They have the best smoked meat of anywhere I have tried. A fun atmosphere as well, service was very good. Desserts are good too! You will not leave here hungry.

Went for the smoked meat..but also ended up trying two deserts. Smoked meat was great, melt in your mouth...however fries were not up to same standard, they need to be hot and better. Had Montreal cheesecake...this was wonderful. We dined inbetween shifts and found first waitress not very inviting, perhaps a long shift for her? Second waitress made up for... More

We had just checked into a nearby hotel and as it was lunch time asked for a local eatery and Reuben's was suggested two blocks away. We timed it perfectly as there were only 2 couples in front of us. We were warmly greeted and seated. We did not have to wait long for our waiter to come and take... More

My son and I went to Rueben"s on November 7th. I was here before and loved this place. My son got the famous Rueben sandwich which was outstanding. I got the pastrami which just melted in my mouth. We both enjoyed our lunch and will be coming here on our next trip to Montreal.

We went to this little gem twice while visiting Montreal. The first time, I had the BLTA (Bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, red onion, lettuce) that was absolutely delicious! Came with fries and coleslaw. Second time, I had the beef dip which was just as good. The portion sizes of these meals were massive and I couldn't finish them but if... More

If you needed a place to take your aunt/uncle other family member out to have Montreal Smoked Meat, this is your place. Casual dinning I think might be a word I would use, in a deli context. I enjoyed my meal, so did my friends. A very memorable part was when I asked for some brown sauce(hp) for my fries... More

We were here for a week stay and dined at Reubens Friday night for an authentic Montreal smoked meat sandwich before flying home the next day. There is another Reubens on the same street but is a small deli, make sure you are at the right place! The line up to get in was long however the wait time turned... More

Been here before but won't be back. The server, an older woman had the personality of a cardboard box. We had the veal Parma and spaghetti side and I had a chicken Caesar salad. The sauces on everything were very ordinary with my salad leaving me with a terrible after taste. They have a bar and my wife tried to... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
