We left after not receiving our drink order after 20 minutes. They don’t seem interested in serving Americans or people with children.

Visited the Stash Cafe with my family for a dinner. The visit required reservation; the day before, we just came at 6:30 PM and it was full. Got seated quickly, the waiter was attentive and described food options well. We got Borsch (beets and cabbage...soup), Pierogi with mushrooms, cheese, beef and cabbage, and kielbasa (the traditional Polish sausage). Everything was very tasteful. The Borsch was very well done, not over-sweetened and came with sour cream as it should. It didn't have cabbage leaves, potato or beets pieces ( there are two types of borsch- with "hard" inclusions such as pieces of meat, cabbage, beets and potatoes and liquid only; both are legit Borsches). The Pierogi were very soft with stuffing almost dissolving in the mouth on its own. The Kielbasa was tasty and fatty. It's fried with a lot of fat; I suggest to get something like mashed potatoes with it. For the amount of food we got, the overall bill was quite low. I would come back if I'll be in Montreal next time.More

We had dinner here and had typical Polish food. The restaurant is quiet and feels like you are in Poland. Pierogies, borsch and kielbasa along with Schnitzel with Latkes my favorite

Overpriced! Very rude staff. Unforndly and unprofessional staff. We ordered a hering and you get just 1 small piece of hering on a plate . They charge so much money for a microscopic piece. When we said that the soup is not very warm the...waitress didn’t even apologised but instead took it aggressively away . Dishes are overpriced and for a polish cuisine which is normally very testy it’s very disappointing !More

Atmosphere was quite cold and unfriendly, almost dead even. Comparable to a morgue but at least the food made up for the lack of ambience and music so I gladly give it a 4/5. Would I return again in the future? Probably.

We have been patrons for many years but due to the closures we missed two years. We were glad to see the place survived and was full on a Friday night. The same piano player is still there which is an added treat. It is...small but the place make good use of it making a nice atmosphere. We had the special, Herring to start, very good and presented nicely. followed by sausage with kraut and veal with fried egg. Dissert was excellent. We arrived late but they were still busy. Service was good but slow to be expected with the staff shortage. Staff was nice.More

We have a lot of great polish restaurants in NYC, but the quality of the food here was better than most of the ones we frequent in NYC, and the service was excellent even on a Saturday but make sure to make reservation by phone...if with large groupsMore

Once again returned with the family for a brunch. Fun menu for kids and adults, which includes updates brunch items but you also can order from the regular menu. Always such a pleasure.

We had hoped to go here as we heard good things and it was near our hotel. It’s unfortunately closed for renovations right now for a while. Maybe we’ll get to go on our next trip to Montreal!

I have dined in many places but this is the best restaurant compared to many others I've experienced. I have been coming to Stash for 30 years. We celebrate our wedding anniversaries, our children's birthdays and many business lunches. I am inviting a friend from...China this week. Long life to this Montreal icon.More

There were to many items on the menu that we could eat in one meal. The ambiance was excellent and the piano player only added to it. Try the Polish Citizen Cocktail.

I think the restaurant is fine for kids although I don't remember seeing a kids menu. As in the previous answers, the earlier the better.
