Perhaps the menu is a bit pricey but the experience makes it worth it. Dine among adorable felines that allow you to share their space. There are some playful kitties to interact with and the staff were kind and attentive. If you're a cat lover...- this is a must-do while in Montreal.More

I went with my partner and aunts! We were giddy like children because there were lots of gorgeous cats ! The logical common sense rules are posted at the entrance! Most of the cats just do there own thing! The cats in training might try...and get you to break the rules so beware of their loving tactics! The server did a great job of serving and keeping everything fun! Another gentleman worker had time to play with the cats.... it was really fun for us! Food is simple and delicious! Thank you cat cafe you made us happy and we smiled all day afterwards!More

This charming cafe is run by an amazing staff who are more knowledgable about cats than any other persons I have ever met. The cafe itself is homey and comfortable and is home to a wide array of cats. The older ones are full time...residents and the kittens are carefully matched to screened applicants when they are 3 months or older. Meanwhile, you get to sit and enjoy good food and drink while engaging in purr therapy! We spent a chunck of our Sunday morning in Montreal just enjoying these wonderful new friendsMore

A bunch of friends decided to go there on a Saturday afternoon to grab a coffee/bite and plays some games we brought, while seeing/petting cats. The good: We counted at least 8 cats there. A good healthy menu with vegans plates also available. Clean place....Warm place (which is important as we have to remove our boots/shoes before we come in). Our waitress was friendly. Cats roam around the tables, when not sleeping. We waited for a few minutes before we got a table but really not long. The bad: Bathroom small. Waiting room is also small. Waiting room also smell. Waiting room has boots lying everywhere which makes it very difficult to walk around, and it is cold. Food is pricey. Coffees are small. Some waitresses did not feel as friendly. The cats are just that, and they ignore you, or sleep. If the place is more quiet, then they will be more active. It is a cute little cafe where you can go and live an experience. Food is great but pricey. But they really need to upgrade the waiting room.More

We recently lost our beloved cats & needed some feline companionship. The welcome at this cafe was certainly chaleureux! The cats were kept busy providing calming influences for their guests. The place is very much designed for a cat's taste--places to climb and play, clawed...furntiture (just like home). It was nice to have coffee and a bagel in this cat-centric atmosphere.More

I'm a dog person who spends most of my time with an off the chart cat person. We visited Chat L'Heureux on our most recent trip to Montreal and found it to be utterly charming and a welcome change from the typical touristy locations. It...wasn't easy to find which probably will prevent it from being overrun and overcrowded in the future. Parking was tricky but we lucked out and found a spot very close to the cafe. The resident cats were sweet and very engaging. It was fun to watch their antics but mostly I enjoyed seeing my BF happily sharing their space. We enjoyed a light lunch at the cafe. The classic grilled cheese sandwich was truly phenomenal as was the tomato olive soup. The side salad was of a generous size with a very flavorful dressing. I thought the prices were quite reasonable especially since a portion benefits the cats. The cafe staff were very friendly and service was prompt. The cats are obviously happy here and so are the patrons many of whom appeared to be regulars. I can see why people are drawn to this unique cafe and its peaceful vibe. I am sure we will visit again when we're back in Montreal.More

Fun to watch cats. Terrible food and even worse service. Asked a question about the menu and was told that it is explained on the menu. It wasn’t. Asked her again. She laughed. I cried. She did too when she got her tip (“get a...different job”). Wouldn’t recommend.More

While Cafe Chat l'Heureux was a little out of the way from our other Montreal excursions, my husband and I were thankful we made the visit. The cafe was absolutely delightful. We saw about half of the cafe's cats (though with our visit being in...the early afternoon it was napping time for quite a few of them). A couple were quite friendly and ready for petting and play time. The drinks were also wonderful.More

Okay, first, if you are allergic or don’t like cats, stop reading now and just don’t come here!! But if you are a cat person, this is heaven!! I don’t know how the Montreal Health Department allows this, but I’m so glad they do. We...were greeted by a big, fluffy black cat snoozing next to the cash register. Once we sat down, kitties appeared through kitty doors and climbed up ramps to curl up high above. There are innumerable cat condos and hidey spots. We counted about six cats. Food is good and I think mostly vegetarian. Service is cat like. (Make of that what you will. ) A unique cafe!More
