You Had Me At Rose Beer

Went out with our university lab, they have great accomodations for bigger groups. The staff is very welcoming, our server was very knowledgeable about what types of beers we would like and food recommendations. They have a Rose Cider and it is to die for! I had the noodle bowl which was tasty expect was quite spicy with the dressing on it, would recommend only putting very little on. Menus are only if French which was a bit hard to read since many of us at the table only speak English. Aside from this everyone was happy with their meals and drinks. Would definitely come again!

Nice place for beer and a meal

Excellent location in Quartier Latin with 24 different beers on draught. Lunch menu of mimosas and almost (12) unlimited beer for $40. Professional service. I really liked the poutine canard.

Little disappointing

We were slightly disappointed with this place when we visited for dinner whilst in Montreal. We both had the fried chicken which was good, but nothing spectacular. I had regular fries, but the focus seemed more on quantity rather than quality (they tasted like the sort of thing you make in the microwave) and my partner opted for curly fries which were dry. I’ve given 4 out of 5 on the basis that I think this place is aimed more at people looking to drink beer given the number of different options available so given we don’t drink perhaps it just wasn’t for us?

Average but interesting beers

We came on a saturday night. Staff very welcoming and helpful, we ordered two pints of beers which were nice to taste. But disapointed with the food : we ordered a veggie curry and a fried toffu w/ spirals fries. The veggie curry was about half the plate w/ rice and it didn't really have the taste you can expect when ordering a curry, because it was just extremely spicy. The fried toffu was interesting but the fries were almost cold, which is disappointing, specially when it's an extra cost. It is very likely that I won't come back.

Nice beer tasting, food not much

I chose this place to go for a drink and dinner with a friend because of the positive reviews that I got here. But it wasn’t what I was expecting, so I thought that it would be fair to others to come here to give my review. The place has a very nice variety of beers, so I would recommend the beer tasting. But the food unfortunately wasn’t good. My friend and I got the burgers (because of a positive review here about the burgers), and it was quite disappointing. The meat was very dry, too well done, the cheese disappeared and extra $4 for bacon that it’s actually halt of a bacon slice and the chips came cold. After a couple of hours the food was a bit indigestible.

Appearances are deceiving

I cannot recommend this restaurant. The food was average and certainly did not get the Farm to Table vibe. We arrived at 6:30 (per our reservation, and the wait staff acted surprised about the reservation). It took 20 minutes for someone to bring water, another 15 minutes to be waited on for drink,s another 20 minutes to take our order and another hour to get our food. The food came out cold, and the french fries appeared left over from lunch. The meal cost $160.00, and there was nothing exceptional about it. Extremely disappointed.

Not the best experience!

We arrived at 6 pm and immediately told the server, Maude that we had a show to see. She said thanks for letting me know and then was late in taking our order! There was no communication on the fact that the rice was burnt for 2 salmon bowls. They should have brought the other guests their meals. After complaining, we finally received our meals at 7:35 pm! The show was at 8 pm and we had to shove down our meals. The vegan meal was terrible. The hamburgers were cold (3 people had this). The salmon bowl was good but not enjoyable to eat in 10 minutes. This was a terrible experience and disappointing.

Good pub food with unique microbrews

Saint Hublon is a gastro-pub and microbrewery with a few locations in Montreal - and not to be confused with the fast food joint St-Hubert. The food menu at Saint Hublon is a little short but still reasonably varied, with some good choices for all members of the family. Our favourite was the poutine, but the burger was also quite good. The real star of the show is the variety of microbrewed beers they offer: the Pause Cafe (oatmeal stout infused with coffee) was unique and tasty. Tip: at the Quartier Latin location they have a very nice deck out back with some interesting artwork. If the weather is nice ask for the terrace.

Such wings!

Service was a tad slow, but the beers and the food made up for it. The wings had a delicious sauce. Make sure to get the hottest one if you want even a little of hotness in it, even though it seems dangerous according to the menu.

Excellent scene and food

Excellent food. I had the vegan touski plate. There was so much food. I would say that the potatoes were the best I ever had. The beans and tofu scramble were also excellent. It was a nice scene. I would definitely go back. Also before I booked, the person I was speaking with on their facebook site was very helpful.

First Poutine

We grabbed one of the outdoor tables to enjoy a sunny afternoon and a plate of traditional poutine - my first poutine I should add. The restaurant was busy, but the service was friendly and prompt. I have nothing to which to compare the poutine, but we enjoyed it.

So Yummy!

We chose this place to introduce our daughter to some Canadian food. It was a short walk from our hotel in a fun section of the city. They have an extensive beer menu and great drink selections. I must say, although I was on a mission to educate my daughter, I was the one that learned something. I learned how awesome Poutine is. I get it now, Canada. The server we had was so friendly and awesome. She graciously allowed my daughter to try out her French. We were really happy with the service and quality of the food. My husband also can’t stop talking about the burger…

Good but overrated here

There came excellent beers on our table, but another dish than ordered, and what was just average. I haven’t seen on neighbour tables the variety of food I see here on photos. Remarkable, when you like poutine, is that it comes with duck meat.

Nice eat

I was passing by this spot in the downtown and decided to grab a bite with a friend. the place is a little small but has a nice vibe plus the waiter was super easy going and fun. great range of crafted beers cocktails and snacks to it. My lamb burger was so good. The experience overall was nice and I'd recommend this pub for a night out with friends to try out some new beers.

Nice place

Cute little spot just up from the hotel we had booked, Hotel St. Denis. I got the chicken burger and it was incredible, my partner got the duck poutine which was also good. Nice service and ended up going back the next night for a drink on the patio as well. Worth checking out for sure if you’re in the area.
