I ate at the Arahova last night for the first time. The atmosphere is very friendly and feels like you are in a family business restaurant in the suburbs of Athens. They offer few main fishes like donner and sovlaki. The food was out of this world everything was fresh and tasty. The Greek cheese was authentic and the donner.... More

We both enjoyed souvlaki and Greek salad. The washrooms need both a clean and a MAJOR makeover!!! I'd hate to be there with kids!!!! YUK. One toilet was completely 'out of service' and the other needed some help to flush (as per a waitress who was in it when we went in...) Service in English or French. If you don't... More

We are a family of four including two kids aged 4 and 6 who are visiting from Toronto. Our friends also coincidentally are in Montreal and we met here for lunch. It is a very kid friendly establishment and the food was quite yummy. I had the greek salad and was able to taste chicken souvlaki and rice that my... More

I came here with my boyfriend on a night out hoping to grab a quick bite to eat after work. We were both pleasantly surprised by the food. We shared the calamari appetizer plate which was huge and filled with crispy fried calamari that were just delicious! The plate came with this spicy mayo on the side, we asked for... More

I was really looking forward to eating here after my cousin raved about it. It was not a total disappointment but almost. We ordered the Lamb Chops, Chicken Gyro Platter and Crevettes Papillon (Butterflied Shrimp). I ordered my chops medium. Two came well done, one medium well and the 4th was medium. The chicken gyro was dry. The shrimp was... More

Great Greek dishes, had the chicken gyro platter and it is the best I've had. Service is mediocre, the waiter knew nothing about wine except to suggest the most expensive wine on the menu, the decor is outdated, check out the sconces - brass hands holding torches

It's more like a Greek fast food restaurant know. It is too bad I liked it when it was a regular sit down restaurant it was much classier before!

I have been enjoying this restaurant for over 25 years now and always satisfied with the quality of the food. Unfortunately, the portion has decreased and i am not quite sure they fill the Heinz ketchup bottles with the original product!!the menu has slighty changed as well so that one large plate can not serve two people. Neverthess, great place

I've been going to this restaurant since the 70's. I've always been impressed by the quality of the food until now. The last two times, something seems a little off, slow service, the seasonings are not as exciting as they used to be and the expensive Greek salad with cheap feta and pale tomatoes floating in canola oil is definitely... Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
