I discovered this restaurant during training in Montreal more than 10 years ago. We went there 3 times in 2 weeks. I loved it at the time and it’s still a WOW today!
I returned there in November 2023 to show my partner. He loved it!
The kitchen is open very late, even on weekdays. Good selection of wine. This restaurant has style and life. Beautiful urban and chic atmosphere.
My risotto was excellent but my partner's mac & cheese was really impressive! Plus, the portions are quite big.
For such a good restaurant, it was very affordable.
On a Tuesday evening at 11:00 p.m., the restaurant was not full and the service was very good.

Busy but very friendly place with a large bar and plenty of table seating. Somewhat loud, but tolerable. Our waiter had a fantastic sense of humor, even persuading one of us who likes everything well done, that medium cooked lamb chops is the most they will cook them--they were perfect. The veal marsala was tasty with a velvety sauce and lots of mushrooms. The Italian wine list looked quite extensive. The tiramisu could have used a little bit more of a splash of amaretto or rum--but the presentation was amazing.

Going solo and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. A large central bar creates a cozy atmosphere with the dark woods and sparkling glassware. Service was prompt and attentive. Individual loafs of bread arrived in a paper bag with oil and balsamic for dipping. My meal consisted of an appetizer and salad. Generous portions and was more than enough. Meatballs in a cheesy and thick tomato sauce was delicious as was the freshly tossed salad of greens pears, cheese and nuts. I would definitely go again when in Montreal. Charming spot!

the address looks good and reputable. Unfortunately, after 45 minutes of waiting on a waiting list when we were promised 20 maximum (and seeing customers pass by without reservations but who had the good idea of only being two and not four), we we ended up abandoning our tour on the waiting list to find a more “available” restaurant (which took no more than 5 minutes in the area).
Still don't understand why we weren't offered to sit on the terrace where there was room, and the hostess didn't seem particularly concerned by our wait and our suggestions. Unpleasant feeling of having been forgotten, hidden behind an excuse of "no table of 4 has yet become available" after 45 minutes.
It would have been better to tell us that it was simply not possible rather than to make us wait in limbo.
So if it's a good address, have the good idea to book in advance (we were there on a Thursday evening, nothing exceptional), and if there are more than two of you, don't believe the waiting times announced for find a table and have a plan B.
Most unpleasant experience/contact with a restaurant of our entire stay in Canada. Too bad, it looked good.

My wife and I went for dinner before a show. The ambiance was good. Very busy spot and good vibe. I would have thought for how busy it was the food would have been better. I ordered a glass of wine that was served in a very cheap (like dollar store quality) wine glass. The wine itself was good, but for $17 a glass, I would have expected proper stemware. We started with a charcuterie board that was "OK". The cheeses were nice and the artichokes and roasted veggies were good. However, the meats were of poor quality (mortadella, salami, proscuitto and ham). Stuff that you get in Metro deli department. For a $24 charcuterie board I would have expected better than cheap cuts of deli meat. Next I have the chicken parmesan. Not good at all. Chicken was clearly deep fried, and way overcooked. The cheese on top was of very poor quality. I can only describe it as overcooked, very rubbery / chewy with a bad after taste. I only ate half and couldn't bring myself to finish it. The desert, lemon pie, was very good. The staff and service were all good.

Terrible seafood risotto, seafood overcooked and the rice was still hard and dry! Worst thing is when I mentioned it to the waiter he said he will let the manager know. But then gave me the bill when we were done (I did not finish my meal) and that was it. No apologies, no discount, no new order. I didn’t expect a free meal but at least an apology or a discount, nothing! WOW. Stay away clearly they don’t care about their customers.
PS…pics looks nice inside but it’s one of those places with sticky tables, not impressed.

We have heard about this place and finally had a chance to go check it out and it did not disappoint. We started with a house special cocktail along with a salad and some fantastic calamari. The pastas were delicious and the serving sizes were plentiful.
We had an excellent server who was attentive but not intrusive.
Overall a winner and we will go back.

We arrived just after 7pm on a Wednesday evening. We had a table outside and our waitress was really lovely. Ordered drinks and food at the same time but sadly we waited over an hour and a half for our food, by which time we had gone past hunger. During this time, the tables around us received starters, main and even their bill!!! When we asked where our food was, we were told at least 3 times that they were looking into it! A really poor service and will not be returning. Our food when it did arrive was average and I did not feel that the removal of our one portion garlic bread was enough to compensate the extremely long wait, especially when the bill itself was $230 for 4.

Came here with my family (4 adults) and waited 45 minutes for a table which we were prepared to do, expecting that it would be worth the wait. We were seated and ordered both our meals and drinks. It took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive and after over an hour of waiting we finally asked our waiter when our 4 pizzas would arrive. He said he didn’t know, I asked if he could please check. Miraculously they arrived 10 minutes after he “checked.” The quality was that of a sub-par corner pizza shop but by that point (9pm) We were all very hungry so we ate them. The bill was over $200 …needn’t say more.

First of all I should say giving 5 stars after so much of bad incidences, was strange for me myself. I’ve reserved a table of 5, 10 days in advance, but when we reached there my name and reservation was not there and we had to wait for 15 minutes to have a table. One of our starters was missing. Other things were perfect. Drinks and Italian dishes were so good and delicious and each portion could be enough for 2 person. I don’t recommend steaks here as the quality was so ordinary and cooking level was not as requested. They serve one of the best pastas and pizzas in the town.

The restaurant is a great atmosphere and the food was excellent - kids had some great options - kid menu for $12 - the appys were delicious and lots of great pasta and pizza to
choose from among other stuff. The pesto chicken pizza was a hit. Good for families and friends.

We arrived with a reservation made several days before our visit. It was a warm Saturday evening and we were looking forward to it, expecting a great meal (I read all reviews). We were seated near a car park and we thought ok it's busy we will at least be seated. There were 3 of us, my son and I ordered a prosciutto and arugula pizza and my wife ordered the fettuccine Alfredo. We also ordered a bottle of Ripasso wine. It was a busy evening and the street was buzzing. The wine finally arrived after waiting a while for it - it was a rather harsh tasting Ripasso that we had never tried before, but we sipped it after waiting a long while for our dinners to arrive. The pizza finally arrived and it was cold - (who serves a pizza like that?) We had waited so long for the food that we decided to just go ahead and eat it anyway. My first bite was filled with a nasty tasting tomato sauce that flooded the pizza I had to fold it to eat it in case spoonfuls of sauce would drip all over my clothes! I was just able to chew on one piece and left it! My son tried to eat two pieces and nearly gagged on a thickly sliced prosciutto slice! We left the rest of the pizza! It was the worst pizza we ever tried and we love our pizza!! My wife said the Alfredo was OK but the noodles were very al dente. My son and I ordered a double espresso to try to kill the after taste!! Would not recommend this place - there are many better places for Italian food in Montreal (especially pizza)!! This place is way over hyped!

1996 was the last time I visited this restaurant and the experience was great then even received a complementary bottle of wine for voluntarily changing tables to accommodate a larger group of 10. But for my visit in 2021 Sam 25 years later during the Covid pandemic I can definitely say that my experience will be just as memorable but for not the same reasons I was quite disgusted to find that when I returned from the washroom the table next to me which sat down after me and grew by two people was shoved up next to my table as we were sitting on the terrace and the canopy was not fully extended and it began to rain a little bit so management in their wisdom instead of extending the canopy decided to push the other table closer to mine to give them more protection from the rain I was so disgusted by this I did not return to the table to pick up the doggy bag of the caesar salad that I didn't finish nor to request the main to be wrapped up. I stood by the bar and requested to speak to the manager several times but no one would identify themselves I waited at least five minutes for the waitress to give you my bill and unfortunately for her she received the brunt of my annoyance as there was no manager that would show their face to me. I explained to the waitress that I knew it wasn't her fault and the problem is lack of management and I still tipped her my customary 18% as she provided the best service possible in this environment. A few days later I was not surprised to see a sign outside saying they were closed for a week hopefully they gave the staff some time off and allow themselves to refocus and realize that the Covid distancing rules are there to protect everybody and must be respected. At the very least if the canopy could not have been opened either myself or the party of four should've been moved to a table inside protected from the rain.
My rating is the following:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service (waitress did her best given circumstance)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food (did not get to finish meal)
⭐️ Value (walked away and left half of my meal)

This is a busy Italian restaurant on the hopping Crescent Street and is under the watchful gaze of Leonard Cohen's portrait which is on a nearby building. The restaurant is in a new building that was designed to look like a factory retro-fit and there is a great chandelier hanging over the first floor dining area. There are two levels to this restaurant. The food and service was great. I shared an Insulata De Casa with my wife, and had a minestrone soup and Polpo, which is the Italian word for Octupus. They have a great wine collection, and the more expensive bottles under lock and key. It appears that the house wine is Jacob's Creek.
The staff seemed to like working there, and enjoyed talking about the restaurant, emphasizing the point about the long-tenured staff. It goes to show that if the staff is treated well, then they in turn provide great customer service.

This restaurant is beautiful though many people wore what they wanted. We were worried that based on the pictures we might not have been dress up enough in slacks and a button up, but many were dressed in shorts and goodies, some in suits and all were welcome. This place has 3 levels all beautiful. There is staff everywhere to take orders, clean tables and help wherever they can. The calamari was excellent but do not get worried about the Diablo sauce it is not spicy. My husband had the chicken parm which was cooked to classic perfection. I have the ponpadelle with mushroom sauce and I would it it everyday. I am not ashamed to say I moaned at first bite. If you love mushrooms this is the pasta for you. I would eat this everyday and die very happy. It was perfect and I left stuffed and content.
