Found the restaurant presumptuous . Food was acceptable but definitely not the best we had in Montreal (nothing compared to Lemeac or lL’Express). The worst part was the service , our waiter who rather than waiting on us was more interested in being sarcastic not...asking us a single time whether we were satisfied with our meal. Definitely the emperor does not treat his guest like royalty:) So many good choices in Montreal not worth it.More

I was excited to try this place after reading many reviews, but left a little disappointed. The service was top notch- everyone was attentive and accommodating- no complaints there. The atmosphere was beautiful. The food although good was not great. Both my husband I felt...it lacked flavor. It just didn’t live up to what I had thought it would be.More

We went here on a recommendation we got while attending a wine tasting. Not knowing what to expect we were delighted. Old school, very polished and outstanding food. The multi course option was wonderful.

Restaurant Bonaparte is a fine dining restaurant in Old Montreal. We ate there as part of a small tour group. We were given a limited choice of entrees and occupied a small room off to the side of the restaurant which was a bit tight....I feel like we didn’t get the true experience of the restaurant. However, the food was great! Our tour director recommended the mushroom ravioli and I thought it was the best meal on our tour. If you’re in Montreal, give the Restaurant Bonaparte a try.More

This is a very fine restaurant in a great location. The food, service, and atmosphere were all outstanding. They also have a great wine selection. Our waiter, George, was first class. Highly recommend!

This is a place for a true dining experience; more than just good food. We opted for the tasting menu paired with wine. The pairings weren’t synced up for the first course - not sure what happened there - but the rest of the meal...was perfect. Our waiter - Frederick - explained each course and the wine that had been paired with it. The setting is very nice, too. Be prepared to stay for at least a couple hours as that gives the best experience to focus on and enjoy each course.More

Food was good as expected at a high class expensive restaurant. Our waitress gave us standard service since she got too busy to give us any extra attention. The coffee dessert waitress Catherine was the only one that made an effort to give us special...service since we were celebrating a wedding anniversary. We really appreciated her service since we were initially greeted by the Maitre’d who made no effort to give us a window table when we asked politely even though one remained empty for over 1 1/2 hour after we were seated. His dry, impolite, rude attitude towards us did not make us feel welcome. If you decide to go here make sure you polished on your French as we felt locals got preferential treatment from him.More

A memorable birthday dinner that I will never forget. We chose the Chef’s tasting menu with wine pairings and it blew our mind. Everything was meticulously presented, explained, served and it all tasted sublime. The wine pairings were perfect and each so different. My wife...and I chose different and when we compared our choices by tasting them with the appropriate wines it was evident how well this menu was curated and how high quality all the offerings were Highlight of our experience was our server. I didn’t catch her name but she was tall with black/dark hair and was incredibly friendly, funny and best of all so knowledgeable! Bravo!More

We had arrived 30 mins early for our reservation (my bad) but the restaurant was great offering us a drink while we waited. Our table was great located by the front window. Service was very good and the meal was excellent. A grade for all

Fantastic service and food. Our waiter was so hospitable and made us feel welcome ( he also had a great sense of humor). The food was wonderful — particularly the mushroom ravioli (so so good!). The rabbit confit was great too! And the crème brûlée...with sparklers was a great way to kick off the weekend!More

Our experience started when we walked in via the hotel and were greeted by the staff and the maître. The decoration was really cozy and chic. We chose the menu dégustation, with 5 courses and pairing wine. Excellent!

We have been fortunate enough to enjoy tasting menus around the world. We thought we'd happened upon another good one when checking out Restaurant Bonaparte's website prior to our Montreal visit. Well, we couldn't have been more unimpressed. To begin--the service was poor. Not initially,...we were greeted and seated nicely, but as each course came, there was never anything explanation given as to what was being served. We were supposed to remember what was being served on our own? The wine was never presented along with the corresponding course. We nearly finished several courses before the selected wine was served. And the wines were atrocious, not complementing the food. We never met the sommelier and doubt that one was involved in the wine selections. Lastly, the chef has a thing for sweet food and everything was overly sweet, including a rabbit confit which would have been quite delicious if less sweet. Even a pasta dish hadn't been drained properly before being sauced, and ended up a watery mess on the plate. For the money, you can do better elsewhere.More

We had the tasting menu which was superb! My palate has never been this stimulated by such excellent delights. Our waitperson, Frederick, was so friendly and knowledgeable, he enhanced the quality of our dining experience to levels we have never ever enjoyed. Martin, the manager,...was also attentive and had the place rocking and rolling with tons of happy diners. You've gotta eat here to feel like your trip to Montreal, gastronomically has been totally satisfied!!!More

We were there during Restaurant Week, and they offered both a la carts and pre-fixe. I would check, but would guess they’ll have both. Either way, I’m sure you’re in for a great meal!
