If you are in Montreal's East end, pay a visit to Au Petit Extra, It is an excellent French restaurant, bistro style. Fine French cuisine without breaking the bank.

Celebrated a friend's birthday at petit extra. We were a group of about 12 people. The ambiance of the restaurant is good with an average decor. The staff was attentive and the service of the meals was good even though we were a large group. The lamb and the steak was cooked as ordered and was tasty. In general a... More

This restaurant has been in business for past 30 years. Décor reflects this. Food is okay and nothing special. We had the sole and it was ho hum Service on the other hand was excellent.

This restaurant is consistently excellent with a choice selection of French cuisine with a local twist. We have been happy diners here for many years. The service is always great. The menu transforms with the seasons. A special occasion is made all the more when you celebrate here. Excellent wine selection by the glass. If you have food restrictions let... More

My partner and I have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years, and never have we had anything other than an outstanding meal and even better service. It is by far our favorite restaurant in Montreal, and so much better than some of the more expensive formal restaurants. The food is varied and exceptional, and the servers are... More

We were part of a large group (40) for a b/day dinner. We had a room to us, which was great and allowed it to be intimate. Given we were a large group the menu choice set and we had 3 different choices. The entree was very good and I had their fish which was also very good. Sadly two... More

Step through a read velvet curtain and feel like you tapped into your neighbourhood bistro in Paris. Fantastic french home style with a rich wine list. On the edge of the Gay Village. Extremely close to the Metro.

We held a dinner party for 50 people here and Au Petit Extra could not have been more accommodating and easy going than they were. The food is delicious, the service attentive, the venue welcoming and charming. I would return here in a heartbeat.

We were very impressed with the food. The vegetables were very plentiful and wonderfully prepared. It is surely a place were locals go. It was very busy on a Thursday night! The only drawback - service was rather slow.

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighbourhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
