Had a very interesting and enjoyable meal at AUX VIVRES. It has a vast vegetarian menu with a good selection of deserts. Enjoyed a bowl of puree spinach soup with a portabello mushroom burger......excellent.. The waitress was attentive and even pointed out the specials of the day. It gets a little noisy but can be expected at a full popular... More

This is hands down the best vegetarian/vegan restaurant I have ever been to. The ingredients are phenomenal, including the tempeh and coconut bacon offerings. Very creative menu with tons of options (bowls, salads, wraps, etc.) Fresh ingredients and clear nutritional information. Good coffee. The staff was very friendly and prompt. Superstars!

This restaurant is everything people say it is! The food is amazing, the staff are friendly, great recommendations, and even my omnivore husband really enjoyed it! We both loved the lox and olive tapenade! Would recommend the appetizer of 5 selections and their homemade bread! Even went to their store next door for more yummy food!

As always the food was great. The best vegan option I've found in Montreal. Friendly and professional staff. My niece left her phone behind and the server ran after us to return it! Love this place.

The food at Aux Vivres will not disappoint vegetarians or meat eaters alike. The place can get really crowded, but the line moves quickly. Reservations aren't a bad idea. The offer a very diverse menu and portions are huge. I love their salads and bowls The last time we went I had the chili which was excellent. Service can be... More

This is the original Vegan restaurant. Delicious stuff. The "gyro" is to die for. Everything is good. Make sure to reserve a table because its packed.

The food at this place is amazing... if you are a squirrel or a bird. To my taste it's somewhat bland. But I do end up there from time to time as my vegetarian and vegan friends seem to like it a lot. And it's good to give a little sometimes.

As vegetarian travellers we're not used to this kind of choice! Had a great meal - recommend the BLT (which is a huge portion also). Delicious sauces and good choice of proteins (tofu or tempeh for most dishes).

Thanks for the review, which I think sums up what we strive to accomplish everyday-create protein rich healthy foods and not skimp on the portions. We hope you come back for another visit soon. Happy travels! More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
