We had originally planned to drive to St-Viateur Bagel Shop on our way out of town. The concierge at our hotel told us that there was only on street parking available. This was a concern since we were departing on a Monday. However, he lives...More

Great place to stop in for some classic Montreal bagels! There isn't a place to sit down, but it's cool to watch the bagels come down the bagel shoot. Cash only.

We found this shop in the Jewish section of Montreal. It is open 24/7 and you can walk in and see them rolling out the bagels, baking them in the wood fired oven and dumping them in the shoot to cool until they are purchased....More

I love bagels and when I took the Mile End food tour in Montreal they said these are better than NYC bagels. I'm pretty new to NYC and I love bagels. I must say these hand rolled bagels cooked in traditional wood stoves which run...More

Nothing fancy in any way -- just bagels, bagels, bagels sliding down a shallow chute and awaiting your delectation. Sesame or Everything -- that's all I need to say. Oh, one other thing: Bring along cash in order to claim your dozen.

The place was packed when we went in so we just popped in the back to buy bagels. They have an open kitchen where you can watch the bagels being baked in the large stone oven. It smelt amazing in there. The bagels were full...More

I am from Montreal and moved away - everytime I go back I make it my mission to get at least 24 bagels. They're SO fresh, hot and delicious, they almost melt in your mouth.

Bagels were okay, nothing special. Not sure why the long lines. Liked the flavor of the rosemary bagel. No place to sit and eat inside or outside. If you are choosing between St-Viateur Bagel or Fairmount, def. go to Fairmount. Fairmount has really nice benches...More

Thank you for the experience of what a bagel can and should be. Although, i have to say that I’m ruined now. I can’t go to my local chain bagel shops. It’s not the same. A warm sesame bagel from St-Viateur with some Liberte cream...More

The bagels were not quite what we were expecting. They have a rustic flavor which could almost be described as biblical. We tried a half dozen original bagels as well as some toasted bagels with cream cheese - one cinnamon and one rosemary sea salt...More

Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of
