The food at Isakaya has always been pretty good. Really like the succulent gyoza especially. Properly cooked veal liver. Black cod a stand out. But the service is frankly weird and shabby. The personalities of the waiting staff really shine through, so some are friendly...More

We were drawn by the high ratings for the food, with the expectation that the decor might be a bit odd or run down. They've obviously redone the dining room since those reviews because the restaurant is neat, clean and tastefully decorated. Nothing fancy, but...More

Me and my family are weekly loyal customers, and everytime we're highly satisfied. The balance between traditionnal japanese sushi and the influence of other cultures is perfect. Picture: Ramen Soupe (miso base), kamikaze (top), tuna kamikaze (bottom), Banzaï (middle), New Japan on the side (amazing).

Good lunch menu and good prices. Good food. Went for lunch, fast service, took a Bento and all tasted great. Miso soup could have more stuff in it but was acceptable. Good pricing.

Good value Japanese with lots of tasty options. The place is not that pretty, but the service is good and food excellent.

We had salmon and tuna sashimi that were very good (for my taste the right size and slicing). The rolls were also simple yet tasty. The tempura roll was really good.

Everything was excellent. Best Mizo soup ever. Service was perfect and all the food delicious. The place is not very attractive but this is forgiven due to the quality of the meals. I recommend this place a lot. Just go and taste.

Look past the decor - the food is very good. Lunch menu is small, but very good. Dinner offers more selection and, having eaten there quite often, is not disappointing. Good variety, fresh, authentic.

This restaurant was near our hotel so we ate here the first evening we were in town. Our teenage boys really enjoyed it!

This place is a bit weird, misses the soul. Food is great but it feels like the staff hasn't the "love". The interior feels a bit loveless also. Why? Not enough eye fot the detail. But still great food!
