My wife and I live in San Francisco and have our choice of fine dining to choose from. If you want an amazing treat while in Montreal, Ile Flottante is it. Truth - the chef and the kitchen staff prepare a Michelin level meal. That...More

Food was tasty and service was very good. However, we expected more from a place rated #1. The presentation was beautiful but the tasting menu could be more elaborate. We did not feel we had enough bang for our buck. The restaurant was also a...More

This is a ‘tastings’ restaurant with so much taste to experience. Each of my seven courses was unique and exciting. Vegetarian and meat choices. Pineapple ‘three ways’ for dessert. Excellent local microbrew beers. Diverse wine selection. Attentive and knowledgeable service. Bilingual staff.

This is a really good restaurant. Great service, decor, and ambience. Everything is tasty and well executed. Price is way reasonable than it looks. Two people having 3 course with two cocktails only cost 120 usd. The portion was appropriate, neither too huge nor leave...More

The reincarnation of Deux Singes into Ils Flottante comes with no change to its spectacularly innovative and flavorful offerings. As we did a year ago, we opted for the vegetarian tasting menu and had our best meal ever - well - since we ate here...More

As you may have surmised from the other reviews, the food is really excellent, so I won't comment further. I've also enjoyed the ambient and music, a bit more relaxed than what one usually finds in places with this level of cuisine.

We have eaten at many excellent Montreal restaurants and decided to give this one a try seeing all the excellent reviews. We were afraid of having set our expectations too high but Île Flottante delivered in all aspects and everything was outstanding. We chose the...More

My girlfriend and I went here last night (Friday, Nov 10) on the recommendation of many people here saying this was THE place to eat. We are visiting here from New York on a long weekend and felt lucky they had just re-opened after renovations...More

I suggest calling them. They are planning to close for expansion/ renovation, but have not decided on a date yet. So yes, they are definitely open -- some friends were there a couple of days ago.

Yes, it's a 2-option tasting menu: vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The 4-course meal changes every-so-often. Your palate will be pleasantly surprised with everything you are served. Don't forget the wine... Two thumbs... More
