My daughter and I stopped in based on the reviews contained here and the food did not disappoint and the service was good. I had the chili while my daughter had the lasagna. Presentation was excellent and the food tasted excellent! We arrived before noon and easily got a table. While we waited the room filled up very quickly and... More

Small cantina crowded with students, pretty small room yet very warm atmosphere. The veggie nachos & burritos are really nice, we are not used to it but that definitely a go for me. In addition, Canadian locally brewed bier available to accompany your meal. Top!

Burger and Nachos done right. A superb blend of flavors and fresh ingredients. Friendly and accommodating staff despite how busy they were.

My husband I joked that we had to go to Canada for South of the Border Food. Great take on Mexican food. Abundant portions that are very flavorful. We loved the unique combinations. Highly recommend.

This gem of a café has a great vibe. There are little tables with drawers filled with notes from patrons over the years. The food is great, all the other reviews let you know how popular the lasagna and nachos are. I had the jalapeno mac and cheese and it was spectacular. The twix pie is a must.

We go there often, very good vegetarian food. The nachos are delicious, the burrito is massive and very tasty. The curry is quite spicy but really good. The food is always fresh, we highly recommend that restaurant for a quick lunch or dinner. It is always very busy, try to reserve in advance.

Had the nachos they were really good however could have used more cheese. The mac n cheese was decent and the poutine was decent as well. Not a vegan so this was my first time. It was ok .

Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed this raucous restaurant, full of University Students. Loud and casual, good service, great portions, great food.

Every time we come to Montreal we have dinner our first night at Lola Rosa's. From our apartment in the Ghetto it is a short walk in an old, rustic neighbourhood with great architecture along tree lined streets. Don't mind the sometimes overly vibrant McGill students. Their energy is contagious. If you can, park or get dropped off a decent... More

I'm a vegetarian, so maybe I'm a little biased about this place. But really the food is outstanding. They even have a microbrewery, so you can try their fabulous beer along with their fabulous food! The service staff was super friendly. I had the spinach mac and cheese, and it was possibly one of the best meals of my life.... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
