We attempted to go here for lunch one day to find all the doors locked and no one around. Thankfully a helpful person told us that they take a lunch break so we had a beer across the street waiting for them to open. No Problem. We ordered "The Main" pizza and the crust was super thin, great toppings, and... More

My friends and I had been wandering around for close to an hour trying to find somewhere to eat that would be good but not break the bank. Though Prato was a little more than we were hoping to spend (found that to be the norm for our trip) the food was delicious! And service was quick and friendly. Not... More

My husband and I ate here with a local. The atmosphere is very casual and the only server for the night was running, so not everything arrived at the table promptly, but this was a relaxed evening and I wasn't too bothered. The arugula salad was very good and large, and the tomato and basil bruschetta was fresh, well seasoned,... More

The service was great and attentive. It tool 30 minutes for our pizza, but it was handmade and wood oven cooked. Both the pizza verde and pizzeta of the day were delicious and filling.

We dined at this restaurant while visiting Montreal on recommendation from family. As mentioned in other reviews, this is a thin crust pizza, freshly baked in a coal fired oven to perfection. We ordered three different varieties and all were outstanding ....we couldn't stop eating. We will definitely return when visiting Montreal.

We happened upon this gem of a pizza place, located a few doors away from the famous Schwartz's deli. The look of the thin crust pizzas being eaten by diners drew us in. They use a coal fired brick oven and the edges of the pizzas are lightly charred (perfect) and the toppings are excellent quality and delicious. Very reasonably... More

If you like thin crispy pizza this your place. We ordered margarita and vegetarian pizza. They were tasty. Their pizzas are baked in a coal fired oven.

The meal size Caesar salad must be seen to be believed... a medium sized plate of nothing but romaine salad pieces, with about 8 croutons, tossed in a store-bought, creamy dressing - not even a hint of cheese and all for a great price of $9. The pizza was good - more Italian than North American in nature but with... More

Looks like it would be very comfortable for dining in, but we needed take out. You couldn't ask from anything more from pizza and lasagna. Our only disappointment was we ordered and noticed on the way out to kill some time that they had a really tasty sounding special, but by then we couldn't change our order. Would have been... More

The title of my review says it all. This is below average Italian food. But worse than the food is the service. The young Italian boy that works here seemed more interested in my watch than taking our order. Service with arrogance and attitude. Do yourself a favour and walk next door to Shwartz smoked meat or to Icehouse or... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
