As soon as you walk in this wonderful byow restaurant, you are taken by a warm and relaxing sentiment while feeling the urban vibe of this great place. The lightening is just perfect and it provides cozy and intimate atmosphere for a very enjoyable diner....I ordered a pasta dish call ‘’ail & bocconcini ‘’. The ingredients were of high quality and fresh. The flavors were well balanced with the perfect amount of olive oil, tomato sauce, bocconcini and garlic. The texture was unctuous, yet not over bathed in oil. It was a symphony of flavor for the palate! Main dish comes with a salad and appetizer. I had the cesar salad which was nice and crispy and roasted vegetables accompanied by balsamic reduction and goat cheese coulis. We also ordered divine garlic bread. To finish, I had a huge piece of delicious chocolate cake. My friend had pollo lemone pasta with popcorn cheese cake for dessert. We loved our culinary experience. In this Italian restaurant, no compromise and no work around. Just high-end products and perfect dishes cooked by a great chef. Because of the generous quantity, I had wonderful left-over pasta and chocolate cake the following night. As for our waiter Kevin, he was truly a real gem. He offered a great and warm experience. His service was flawless and he was attentive to provide everything we needed to enjoy a great dinning experience. Also, a great +, he provided water abundantly!!! I also found myself reassured by the proper sanitary measures taken, from the verification of the sanitary passport to the plexiglass between tables. The place is spotless and it is worth your while to do the bathroom experience! Right in the heart of the gay village, closed to downtown and the subway, this remains a very accessible place. You can bring your own wine and there is a SAQ nearby. The pricing is very reasonable for the amount of food and quality of the dishes. I will be happy to convert other friends to this new finding! Bravo to all the staff and owners of Restaurant Mozza Pates et Passion!More

We very much enjoyed our meal and vantage point on the patio. Pizza and pasta were very good with attentive service. It’s BYOB. No alcohol menu. Washrooms the best! I won’t spoil the surprise. Lots to see in the Gay Village. Great vibe. Highly recommend...the area and the restaurant.More

At the recommendation of the proprietor of our nearby B&B, we tried Mozza for dinner and were very happy we did. Best Caesar salad I’ve had in ages and delicious pasta and pizza. Yummy minestrone soup. Ample vegetarian options. Good service. BYOB. Would go often...if we lived in Montreal.More

It is mostly pasta and it is a little expensive for that, but the dishes are unusual and so they can ask for a little more. Not AMERICAN size but you still get your fill. The service was very good & knowledgeable. A small place...but well served. The washrooms deserve a visit.More

We stayed around the corner from this restaurant and decided to follow the recommendation of friends to visit. We were not disappointed. As other reviews you will read the food was great, nice portions, and I am a big eater, and they include a Caesar...salad and choice of about 3 additional apps....all good. Dor had the antipasto and I had their minestrone. The antipasto was a nice single serving and my soup was the best. Both our entrees were excellent and the waiter, Quintin was attentive, friendly and helpful with my poor attempt at French. If you in Gay Village and hungry stop by, I'm sure you will enjoy. We were there on a Thursday evening around 7:00 and didn't need a res. but over the weekends we understand things can get busy so plan ahead.More

This gem located in the Village was a wonderful way to start my vacation in Montreal. We booked (very suggested) for 7pm and got a great table and a fun Bilingual waiter. I suggest trying their "Table Hote" (C$ 32) which gives you a choice...of Caesar Salad, Minestrone Soup, or Escargot for the starter. Then a wonderful choice from their daily special. For me it was a small serving of Italian Roasted Vegetables. Wow. Then my main course of Pasta with Giant Shrimps and Scallops. Very tasty. For value, this place is very affordable while still being an elegant place to dine with friends. We brought our own wine which made even more enjoyable. A very fun and inexpensive evening and well worth the cost. I seldom drink so my evening was C$ 32 plus tax and tip for a three course meal with lots of iced water. PS: You must see the men's bathroom if only to see something fun and unique. I know it's odd but we weren't the only ones bringing a camera into the men's room.More

BYOB like most restaurants on that block of St. Catherine's Street. Started with their signature Caesar salad, followed by an eggplant and tomato appetizer, with pasta entrees including fettucine with shrimp and scallops in vegetable rich marinara sauce, tortellini in a bocionini cheese and tomato...sauce. Too full for dessert. Friendly, helpful service, nice atmosphere.More

This restaurant in the gay village of Montreal is probably one of the best in the area. A take your own wine place and 3-course dinners for $32. The main plate I had was excellently prepared and delicious. The service is attentive and perfectly timed...to allow a relaxed pace. The small outdoor terrace in summer and the indoor area are very pleasant. Highly recommended.More

Easy location to get to, terrific service by the wait staff, every meal comes with a Caesar salad and then choice of a second starter and then your choice of meal. I had minestrone soup and then Penne with Gigi sauce. The Caesar salad was...very good, the soup was spectacular and the pasta was also very good. The bathrooms are definitely something to check out while you're there. I would definitely recommend this place.More

Keep Mozza on your list of “return often” in the Village, as the food is delicious and BYOW makes you the sommelier. Easily the best value table d’hote especially for great pasta. Regular menu choices are vast and they do well to keep the favourites....Minestrone and chef’s special entrées consistently good. One of the best Caesar salads in the city. Service is always perfect - friendly and attentive. Order-to-table is just the right speed. Tables are a bit tight together but the entire restaurant is impeccably clean. Check out the disco washrooms.More

I don't like writing harsh reviews, and rarely do so. It's interesting to see that the large majority of reviews of this place are positive. Maybe we visited on a bad night, but... ...we arrived here after a long day of wandering through the city,...grazing at cafes as we wandered. When we got to Mozza we wanted a fairly modest meal to finish off the day. What could be better than a pizza and salad or two shared between four of us with a glass or two of wine? Like many restaurants in Montreal, this is BYOB. That's fine, good in fact: one can bring along just the wine you want without having to choose from a selection of possibly overpriced, and often unrecognised, wines. Our waitress opened the bottle we'd brought and asked for our orders. When we asked for a couple of starters and a couple of pizzas to share she explained that, now she had opened the wine, we were required to buy four complete meals. We could certainly share them, but each of us had to buy a whole meal. This was, so she explained, because she had opened the wine. Our first reaction was to wonder why she hadn't explained this before. Maybe it was because we were from the west coast. Or maybe it's just not the policy to explain this, in case potential customers immediately decide to go elsewhere; we suspected the latter. We had not come across this rule before, though as it was our first visit to Montreal it may be common. We asked her to see whether her manager could relax the rules a little, as we could not work our way through four full meals, but she assured us that these were the rules and they could not be changed. Furthermore, we could not legally take the now opened bottle of wine into the street, but had to consume it in the restaurant and - again - would have to buy food to do so. Thoroughly annoyed, we therefore ordered more food than we wanted, asking for some of it to be pre-packed so we could take it home later. In the event we didn't even take any away. The soup was far too salty; only one of us even got beyond a couple of spoonfuls. The pizzas were large and generously covered with toppings, but again extremely salty and also, strangely, with little taste. We did not bother to even consider desserts and just left. Sometimes you get lucky and have a much better meal than expected in an unpromising spot. And sometimes it's the reverse, when a place that has been recommended, as this was, really disappoints. Maybe the cook was having a bad night. Perhaps the waitress reported to the kitchen there were some argumentative customers at table x, and the unpalatable meal was our reward. All that was needed was for the waitress to have explained when we asked her to open the bottle that, once she'd done this, we'd be required to buy four full meals. Perhaps the resturant will consider doing this in the future. Is Mozza worth a visit? Not if our experience is anything to go by. But if you must go there, at least check out the washrooms. And take a camera.More

Consistent quality for the past several years although the menu has not changed much, you can rely on having a decent list of items to choose from... It's a bring your own wine place so it is kind of nice to have in mind what...you feel like and take whatever wine to best compliment your main course!More
