This lovely restaurant deserves all the plaudits it receives. We went back the following day to see if we could eat as well a second time and we did. This is not a cheap place to eat but you'll have to go a long way to eat anything as good.

We came across Le Cartet during the first hour of our stroll through Montreal and decided to give it a try, as we were all ravenous. Relaxing, fresh, modern atmosphere inside the restaurant and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. But the food...the food was outstanding.

My husband and I visited this restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel for Saturday brunch. It was busy with a great vibe. We did not have long to wait for a table, but when we left around 11:30 there was more of a line up. The food was delicious - lots of it. Coffee was great as well.

Visited for brunch on April fools day, but this place is no joke! The menu all looks great, and from looking around at other diners plates, I'm sure no one was disappointed. Only negative comment was that they could probably use some extra servers. Not that our was overly slow, it would just move things along a little quicker. Would... More

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to a spa day at Bota Bota and it was amazing. The restaurant has a great atmosphere: somewhat of a modern farm kitchen feel (think wooden tables and accents). I had scrambled eggs with cheese and asparagus, which was delicious. I also tried a side of yogurt with blueberries and granola and... More

Late, lazy Sunday morning with friends. Great vibe, an amazing place for people watching in a typical MTL location. Had the Atlantic brunch, a bit heavy on the salmon, it was in every item of the dish. Food portions where so so and prices fair. Would return if only for the energy!

We visited this place because we received a gift card and a recommendation from a friend. The restaurant is nice. But the brunch itself is average. Good products but fast prepared. We were supposed to have some amuse-bouche with our eggs but it was probably too late because we were just 45 minutes before the end of the service. Not... More

We wet to Le Cartet on the recommendation of our concierge and we were not disappointed. They open at 9am and we arrived at 9:15, by 9:30 there was a wait. The food was delicious, I had the Canton plate which is a peasant meal with sausage, bacon, and ham, eggs and baked beans. It was wonderful, you can tell... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
