Craving Chinese in Montreal, this is a must stop spot. Before or after the club, the owner was so sweet and caring. He made sure us ladies stayed safe while and fulfilled, but did not allow us to over order (which is unheard of). We ordered, (2) orders of steam shrimp dumplings, (1) order of pork pan friend dumplings, a... More

They have a small menu for lunch. Lunch was simple, tasty, and good portion served. Good value for lunch.

Since I stayed at holiday inn and the restaurant inside wasn't open, we went to Mon Shing. We were seated immediately. Food portions are excellent for 2. Ordered fried pork dumplings, beef ginger & onion and sea food chowmein. The server would come by once in a while to check if all was ok. One thing about chinese or Asian... More

Ok food. Not my favourite Chinatown venue. They do work with Foodora for delivery. Their food is tasty but not my fave.

My friends and I were looking for a late night spot to eat after a night of dancing. There's is so many things wrong with this place. #1, the owner who's an older gentleman lectured us about how we didn't know how to read the menu and how to order. #2, we ordered mixed drinks and he charged us $2... This is a no frills type of restaurant-good portions;prices and food! Great thing is that they are opened late until 4:00am on weekends and they do delivery too. Busy place after clubs close. The place is not the prettiest and rather plain and but rundown. Food is very tasty and the service was attentive too! We ordered wonton soup with... More

Stop there to fill my Asian food craving in the take-out form, ordered wonton in peanut butter sauce and sesame beef, the portion was really generous and the food quality was really good. I will be back!

I had lunch, the restaurant was very clean. The food quality is average - the roasted duck was dry, Chinese broccoli was average. Overall, the service was friendly and quick.

I strolled through Chinatown at lunch while at a business conference. I chose this restaurant randomly since I saw a steady stream of other customers going in. I had the General Tao chicken with white rice and wanton soup. Everything was deliciously perfect. One thing that was different from American Chinese restaurants was the soy sauce. It was very dark... More

We have been coming here for years. The place is Chinatown typical decor....not very alluring! However the food and service have always been solid. The service was very good. The food was good but not as good as it used to be. We had the Szechwan shrimp which were very good, the ginger beef which was not up to par.... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Bakeries, markets, restaurants, and buffets crowd the brightly graffitied streets of Chinatown, the city's aromatic destination for pan-Asian cuisine. Distinguished at its entry points by towering vermillion paifang gates, the compact neighbourhood acts as a focal point for the Chinese community, hectic with educational facilities, cultural centres, acupuncturists, and foreign-language newspapers. Especially vibrant in the warmer months, when the sweet smell of dragon beard candy along the pedestrian walks of Rue de la Gauchetière signal the beginning of the outdoor street fair season, Chinatown is a treasure hunter's dream, with enough knickknack and curiosity shops to tempt even the pickiest shoppers. The convivial vibe picks up after dark, when the area's active nightlife offers evening crowds their choice of drink, dance, and midnight snacks of pho or oysters. Chinatown's mix of new and old, with herbal remedies being sold alongside pop-culture DVDs, gives the area its own animated brand of moxie.
