All-in-all a very good restaurant but not spectacular. The sushi was good, but did not meet expectations based on other reviews I read on line. Also found it a bit pretentious.

I am always on the hunt for good sushi in whatever city I am visiting. This is in the top five. THere were not a lot of maki choices, but they were all melt in your mouth delicious. They had some original rolls as well. We tried one with tempura cheese and beef. A little too sweet with the sauce,... More

Ordered the chef's sashimi selection for two and we received 20+ pieces of the best sashimi we have had in quite some time. The presentation was so attractive that heads turned as it was brought to our table. This is a popular and really good Japanese restaurant with an extensive menu of sushi, sashimi and cooked items. The wait staff... More

I went with to Kyo with my friends, The food was great especially the desert. Sabrina was very friendly and helpful especially that she recommended several good options including donuts. She made our evening different, lucky to meet people like that!

Thought we'd catch a quick bite after checking into this great hotel late and found it packed. Had to sit at the bar with our kids and dreaded the thought of a long wait in a noisy spot not being able to talk with the family. Truly the opposite!! Staff who seated us felt our pain and served us drinks... More

Trendy restaurant without the pretentious vibe. We didn't have reservations but the manager found us seats at the bar. Don't go for fast food. Food can take a while to come to the table, it's presented when ready, but worth the wait. We were pleased with all our dishes. Chill and listen to the music. Staff incredibly nice. Manu, the... I was doing solo on a business trip. I found this restaurant on TripAdvisor and it was less than a kilometer from my hotel. It was a very easy and safe walk. Since I was by myself I didn't order a lot. I started with their special scallops ceviche then moved on to a kamikaze roll and a dragon roll.... More

The food was good and fresh great presentation The atmosphere was very pleasant. The kitchen was a bit slow even the place was not crowded. One thing put me off was one of the employes from the kitchen did not wash his hands after toilet. Hope he did it later. Beside this point everything else was good.

Excellent tapas and Patrick, our server was outstanding! We went for supper there for our bachelorette party and the staff offered us complimentary shots, on the house! We will definately visit Kyo again. Make a reservation!

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
