Worst experience ever. I think the guy is out of mind he doesn’t learnt any single good thing how to talk with people . Unprofessional guy with the glasses very rude . Stay away from this horrible place. Manner less guy. Kind of racism behaviour....Doesn’t even deserve a single star.More

I had never seen a owner full of ego.I don’t know why he thinks he is the superior and other people are fools. He must take class to be clam and respectful with his customers if he really want to carry his business. I had visited...lot of Indian restaurants they were very polite and they know how to treat any customer but sadly you even don’t know the meaning of these words. Work on yourself.More

Hi, I had read about this place here in Tripadvisor and decided to try it. For sure my best find in the last two years. Nice decor, and the food is to die for. Trust me just try it, I don't usually write reviews on...restaurants but I felt I had to with this one. Looks like nothing from the outside....just go! and let us know!More

The neon sign in the window might lead you to believe this is a cheap joint. We are, after all, across the street from the Cinema L’Amour. Get past that and you’ll be surrounded by a very well thought out decor, complete with a mezzanine...and two alcoves for small groups. Of subcontinental inspiration, but not overly so. White table cloths and fabric napkins are a dying accessory in the Montreal restauration scene, but not here. Copper water goblets that nicely complement the copper rim of the plates. The lighting is particularly soothing, diffusing a warm glow on the pale brick walls, which gives the perfect backdrop to the waiters’ all black uniform. The kitchen is tucked away in the mezzanine behind a semi-circular opening. So far, so good. Tasteful, not kitsch. Atmosphere-wise, the decor is what creates it. The music (or rather: muzak), thankfully discreet, could do with some improvement. That said: this is a small detail which only the most curmudgeonly diner will notice. Overall, the feeling is one of tranquility. And now, the food: Mulligatawny Soup, crisp and just on the edge of hot spicy, but agreeably balanced with a wedge of lemon; Dahl soup, equally delicious; the classic Butter Chicken smothered in an appropriately buttery sauce; Bhoona Shrimp, with a light tomato curry, all accompanied by Raita (spiced yogourt with cucumber which adds a lightness to the meal) and as much Pappadum as you wish (bonus points: Pappadum are made with lentil flour – great for gluten intolerants & keto fanatics). The overall impression was one of freshness, sharpness of tastes and generosity of portions. And about the generous portions: let’s bear in mind that this is a restaurant the prices of which are more than affordable. But there’s always room for improvement: the welcome & the service. Upon arrival, there was a bit of disorganization as to where the 5 person staff were going to seat these two guests who arrived in an almost empty restaurant. Feeling like a cat in a bowling alley is not the way to start what was otherwise a fine dining experience. The service isn’t bad, but could be more attentive and cut down on waiting time. That said, these are easy points to improve upon and should not detract future patrons. All in all, a much needed respite to a freezing Montreal Sunday evening.More

We had no trouble making a last minute reservation last Thursday. The atmosphere is quite nice, as noted in many reviews. Service was good, but the food really stands out. All ingredients seemed fresh and high quality. We had excellent vege and meat dishs: the...Tandoori chicken was among the best I have had, pakora appetizer, lamb korma and eggplant dish all excellent. They had a nice selection of beer and wine, reasonably priced. My new favorite Indian place!More
