A well established French bistro style restaurant - decorated like many a great locations in Paris. Excellent service and a very good cuisine. Extensive wine list.

Wife and I dined at this restaurant on a recommendation of the concierge at our hotel. Wife had the gazpacho and seafood stew. I had walleye. Food was very good. Service started off nicely, but our waiter's shift ended before our meal ended and the replacement waitress was a bit slow in serving our table. Overall, the food was very... More

We were there after 9 p.m. for la Table d'Hote. Both of our meals were fantastic as was the service. The server and chef were very accommodating to food allergies. The mussels were the best I've had--outstanding! Wish I'd had room for dessert!

Concierge at hotel suggested this place for a Sunday evening dinner and it was fantastic! The host and server were very friendly and helpful with the wine and menu selections. Food was delicious and not too pricey. They have a special menu after 9 pm with a price fixe of $25 which is a great deal. The French press coffee... More

We chose to do one night out for a nice, traditional French meal. This place was well rated and nearby, and it turned out to be exactly what we wanted! The entire experience was excellent. Thomas, our waiter was great and very helpful. The steamed mussels were very good, I had the duck and my partner the filet and were... More

Went to dinner there last night and had a great dinning experience. Our server Francois went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great meal. The duck was really good and the homemade mushroom linguini amazing. Wine was definitely overpriced with the cheapest bottle at $50 and only 3 options of red wine by the glass. All and... More

Great experience with wife and daughter. The delay between the first course seemed unusually long so we were offered a mimosa on the house. Then my wife's fish entree was served undercooked. We never made a fuss and upon settling the bill were offered her meal free of charge. Gracious hosts indeed. Would go back anytime.

Seat outside, watch people walk by and cars go by. At the same time enjoy good food and wine which is served by friendly professionals. We had a great meal.

Not too impressed. Love the atmosphere and décor however service is not good at all. I find that waiters have an attitude that is smug and almost arrogant that took away some of the joy from the whole luncheon. Asked for coffee 3 --4 times... at brunch and was just given that "look". We had 13 people for brunch and... More

I liked it a lot. It reminds me of a Bistro of the sort you'd find in Paris ... not the $$$$ kind, but the kind you really want to go to for several nights. I had bone marrow as an appetizer. This was excellent, very rich and a nice accompaniment to the toast slices. Can't get this (well, not... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
