It was my second time to Studio 701 and everything was perfect! Roxanne A. was the best. Very attentive and fun! We had brunch, and topped it off with a fruit plate and cupcake! Oh and we also had the grande soif which was awesome. A perfect ending before we left to return home from a weekend filed with great... More

While staying at Place d'Armes, tried dinner here. I had the steamed cod with a side of vegetables. The food is unfortunately just average. The cod was presented on a bed of spring greens with some snow peas and shaved asparagus. The salad was over salted and dressed with a tomato vinaigrette, not too inspiring. Also had a side of... We went for Xmas brunch with all you can drink for two hours. It had all the potential to be really good but failed miserably. I'm not sure if it was our timing but we didn't really have a server. Several people tried to help us because it was clear that we were being ignored and/or left unattended. We were... More

It was my first time in Montreal with a few friends, we decided to visit Suite 701 for their bottomless Brunch special. The food was absolutely incredible, some of the best I've had (the Fried Chicken is a must-try!) and the service was perfect. Free coat-check upon entry, servers very attentive and refilling drinks in a timely manner, food cooked... More

This was probably one of the best restaurant experience I have ever experienced. We were visiting Montreal for the weekend and I saw this spot online. The architecture and design of the place is what drew me to it. When we got there in person, it didn't disappoint. It was just as gorgeous as the photos! What was even more... More

We totally regret going here for brunch. It took about 10-15 mins for anyone to even come visit us at our table. Once the waitress came we ordered coffee, she poured my cup and forgot my husbands. When I reminded her about his coffee she said sorry I've got too much going through my head. Ok. No problem. Can we... More

Came to celebrate a 50th birthday and everyone enjoyed the food and atmosphere. A special mention to the DJ playing Saturday night for the great music. It was VERY enjoyable the fact that he didn't blast the music and that we didn't have to scream at each other ( as many other places blast the music way too loud.)

Chic feel with really down to earth staff who make every minute of your stay a worthwhile experience. The space was booked solid yet they found room for us and the best part of the evening was a new libation that head barman William has concocted. Coined the "Montreal Old Fashion" and not your grandmas either. This is a stellar... More

We came here last year to celebrate a birthday, and loved it so much we returned today. First, the reservation wasn't recorded--although I made sure to repeat myself multiple times on the phone. No matter; the staff was happy to set us up. Then the coffee was barely warm and tasted burnt. The helpful waiter made us all Americanos instead.... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
