Last evening I had the pleasure of dining in this quaint little restaurant. I must add that there's also a terrace outside which was too crowded and noisy for me. The decor is authentic as well as the music. Cocktails were spot on. We chose nachos for an appetizer, above average as they were not salty. As my daughter is vegan... More

Great place to go have few drinks, and dance to latin music, salsa bachata, meringue and more. There is also short dance show. I would definitely be back when I am in Montreal again.

Was in town for a conference and stumbled into this place with a group of 8 gals from my industry. Great food, delicious drinks and friendly staff. Only downside was a kitchen staffer repeatedly made an sexually obscene gesture in reference to me - not sure where he thought that would get him. Otherwise, I recommend this place since everyone... We went for a mid-afternoon drink on a baking hot July day. The drinks were good and iced water was plentiful and complimentary. The service was good and our waiter was a nice guy. The awning outside the bar does little to protect customers from the sun. The most bizarre thing is that the benches are covered in AstroTurf which... More

Pulled up at the St. Hubert, we saw the Cactus across the street, so we went in on a whim. The place was empty, but it WAS raining and 2pm on a Sunday. Nice decor, very Tex-Mex, comfortable, appropriate music. We had some excellent guacamole (I'm not usually a fan of cilantro, but it worked in this version). Most of... More

The restaurant is on St. Denis, a great spot for unique shops and restaurants, so we'd recommend it as a good spot to spot for a bite and relax. There's a patio on the street and seating inside, not big but it's not crowded which is nice. We had the cactus salad with feta, coriander, chilies and onion, which was... More

Service was decent. The food was satisfying but nothing exceptional. Make sure you get the green salsa. The red tastes like marinara. Good selection of beer and wine.

I went here with my son - mainly because it was close to my guest house. The food was very good, and plentiful. Service was excellent and it had a really nice atmosphere even though it was rather empty when we ate there - admittedly it was early evening. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Mexican food.

We arrived on a Tuesday evening and the place was empty and were quickly seated. The ambiance was nice enough with some background music and a Tex-mex feel to the place. I ordered the burritos with guacamole dip with chips as did my colleague. The chips and guacamole arrived and the dip was excellent. I love this stuff! It's so... More

small restaurant with a big heart. In summer we have a lovely terrace where you can enjoy your frozen margaritas or our delicious sangria with a freshly made guacamole. We offer a classic mexicain cuisine. On weekend you can enjoy the salsa club upstairs.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
