The food was okay but they didn't offer us coffee or dessert and asked us to leave because another party was waiting for a table. We eat out at least once a week and have never ever been asked to leave!

We had noticed this nice-looking restaurant the night before and were not disappointed we made the trip to try it. We loved the vegetarian mixed plate. The naan bread is amazing! Waiter is friendly and efficient. I would not change a thing!

check your meet before eating. From the waiter comments, we got the feeling it happened before. Otherwise good tasting food

Went for dinner on a Sunday night. We had the lentils soup, thali, madras lamb and tandori chicken. Everything was good to very good (the chicken was pretty awesome) and the prices were very reasonable.

Looking for a place for an early dinner, i stopped on my way to my meeting at this restaurant. What a mistake! The decor is nice, the staff was friendly but the food was appalling. I know I was not in India, but come on!...More

The decor was simple, the service was efficient yet relaxed, and the food was excellent. We are big fans of Indian food and this is one of the best Indian meals we have had in Canada. They even had locally brewed Indian style beer.

Description
Latest culinary venue from the Sandhu family, established in Montreal for more than 30 years now, GURU – Bistro indien has already made a… brand for itself by exceeding Montrealers’ expectations, always fond of novelty and exoticism, under the helm of Chef Inderjeet. Native of Punjab, Chef Inderjeet studied at first Indian Haute Cuisine to the Institute of Mr Chopra for two years, then, went on to work for another 6 months at the Parack Palaza 5 Star Hotel, Ludhiana, Punjab, India, to finally end up its Indian Cuisine training working 3 years as Premier Chef at the Imperial Hotel in the same town. GURU Bistro indien serves all the classics of Indian Punjabi cuisine such Salmon Tikka, Malai Kofta, Chicken Tikka Masala, Shrimps Bhuna, Onions Bhaji, Chicken Tandoori, Chicken Madras, Chicken Butter, Lamb Vindaloo, etc. Chef Inderjeet has successfully created an Indian Bistro ambiance and, by the same token, revisited under "Punjabi" influence several culinary classics of Montreal urban life among which the famous poutine and the club sandwich; the whole experience enhanced with exotic "a la Bollywood" drinks and with some very good "Indian" whiskeys!
