We had a lovely dinner here and the prices were very fair. Very good food, attentive staff and a nice atmosphere on Boulevard St. Laurent.

I bought a Groupon for this place and called to make a reservation. The man told me that they didn't accept the Groupon anymore and he was rude about it.

We have been to several Indian restaurants in Montreal and this is one of the best. Excellent food with lot of variety (go with "à la carte" menu and pick your own combination), quick service, fair prices and portions are generous. Moreover, friendly service is both English and French, a rarity in Indian restaurants. We are now regular customers of... More

I've seen very different opinions and experiences with other people's reviews but let me say just this... I had a WONDERFUL meal there last night. Went with my hubby - we started with onion bhaji and prawn poori which to us was just fantastic - very rich in flavors and it was FRESH. Main meal we tried, chicken korma and... More

A group of four ate at this restaurant on St. Laurent on a busy Wednesday evening in June. The restaurant was quite full by the time we ordered, with only one person at the front of the house taking reservations, seating people, making drinks, serving food from the kitchen: service, needless to say, was slow and somewhat sharp: not welcoming... We were brought into this restaurant by a Teambuy offer which took $45 off our total meal cost, not including Alcohol. We were delighted by the hospitality and the service, then the great food, excellent quality and taste, we eat Indian food enough to know this was better than other restaurants. Delicate flavours and high quality meats, our 16 year... More

I'd eaten here twice before, once in this space's previous incarnation as a Cinema Cafe, and once when Lumiere de L'inde first opened, before it closed, and now it's reopened. The food is good. But not special. And not as spicy as I like, which isn't to say 'hot' as in hot peppers, but a blend of spices that can... More

"Fine Indian cuisine" is the sign that will great you at the door. This Indian restaurant certainly lives up to their tagline. The ambience is warm and the service friendly and efficient. The food here is amazing and oh-so fresh. Don't expect fast food, as it takes time to prepare these Indian delicacies. We've been many times and have yet... More

First time, and not last, in this Indian restaurant located at the intersection of St Laurent / Fairmount. Had a $20 coupon (paid $9), what a great deal !!! Loved the nan with coconut, the rice and the vegetarian samosa. Only negative point will be that it took almost 30 minutes to get our food (was 6.30pm), and it was... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
