It's not fancy like some but is very much a pub where you can get a solid drink and a meal. Upstairs was much quieter than the lower level.

Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to visit us and review us. I hope to see you again in the future. Cheers, Stuart
Great atmosphere, beautiful decor and our waitress Louise was just such a cool and down to earth person that it really made our afternoon!!!
Hey there, Thanks for the kind words. I hope you get a chance to visit us again. Cheers, Stuart
We stopped in here for some football and very much appreciated the fabulous service by Chemika so much that we came back a second night. The wings were tasty. The environment is relaxed/casual and friendly. Thanks for giving us a comfortable and welcoming place to...watch some American football on our trip. We'll be back in the future!More
Hey guys, Thank you so much for visiting us and then taking the time to tell the world about our place. All we want to be is friendly and welcoming spot. A great team is key. Chemika is amazing and I'm glad not only we...More
We stopped into McLeans just because we were tired and wanted to sit at a bar. No great expectations. Glad we did. This place is friendly, clean, lively, with great food and drink. The bartender, Dave, I think, was a great source of information and...very good at his job. As the place filled up soon after we got there, the staff was very very busy, but we had a great time. Now, the food. We ordered the $6 Chili Dog on Dave's recommendation. Jameson Chili, so it says on the menu. This is the best chili I've had in a long time. Really hit the spot. You know for sure that the next time we come north of the border, we'll be visiting McLeans.More
Hi John, That was one amazing review. Thank you for all of the details. I will make sure the Dave sees this and I'll tell the chef that you loved the Chili! Here's hoping you make it up your soon. Stuart
Wonderful staff with many long time members. Great food, especially the burgers, lemon-pepper wings, fries, and butter chicken poutine! Great place to grab a drink and watch a game
Hiya, Thanks for that amazing review! Cheers, Stuart
Fantastic Irish pub - and does a great job catering to Premiere League fans. Bartender was so helpful getting the games on. Waitress was attentive and the food and beer were great. Highly recommend!
Hey Scott, Thanks very much for the kind words. I hope you make it back to the pub soon. Cheers, Stuart
We went to McLean's to watch the race during Grand Prix weekend as we were unable to get race day tickets. The staff was friendly, the food was tasty and the beer was cold. What more could you ask for. We liked the place so...much, that we dropped in later that night for drinks.More
Hey there, Thanks a million for the kind words. We really appreciate it. Sorry you didn't get tickets but I'm glad we made your day that much better. Cheers, Stuart
Good beer. Baseball on TV. Buzz. Three things we were looking for in a pub during our three days in Montreal. This is why we returned to McLeans. Service was good. Not expensive. Central.on Peel Street.
Hey there, Thanks so much for sharing your review with the world! We'll keep doing what we do to the best of our ability. Hope you visit us and our great city again, Stuart
Our server was Gabrielle and she was terrific. Quick on her feet and knew the area really well. Atmosphere is very traditional pub like with dark wood tables. Stopped here for a couple of drinks before starting the walk up to Park Mont Royal. Draft...beer was $7.61 and a large pour of chardonnay was $13. We enjoyed the hour we spent at McLeans.More
Hi Sharon, Thanks so much for your kind words and for shouting out Gab. She is great. Take good care, Stuart
Stopped at this pub after getting off the city tour bus for a couple of drinks and something to eat, I wish we walked passed the place. Drinks came after a long wait and my wife's fish and chips that she ordered was the most...disgusting dish of food that I have ever seen let alone eat it.I asked the server if the chips were sweet potato or ordinary potato they looked like something pulled out of the bin and the fish was so over fried the batter was dripping in oil in fact there was hardly any fish to be had. If I had given that dish of food to the rough sleepers they would have thrown it away.I have drunk and eaten in Irish pubs all over the world and this place has to be the worst.IRISH it is not.thank goodness I was on holiday and I don't have to go any where near this place again . Hi Sharpie, I think my response on your Google review summed it all up. Again, I am sorry for your horrible experience. We don't claim to be Irish, people claim us to be Irish. We are a public house in Irish, Scottish, English and UK...More
Great causal setting with good drinks and food. Stuart was very friendly and accommodating. He put on the Everton match for us on the screens. Waitress (can’t remember the name) was great as well and kept toping up the drinks for us. Great experience we...will visit again when we back in Montreal.More
Hiya, Cheers for the review. Much appreciated. We do what we can and we love doing it. Hope to see you again, Stuart
Reading the reviews, we thought this would be a great stop to catch some playoff hockey, have a beer and a bite to eat. Wish we had gone elsewhere. First of all, there is nothing Irish about this place. They played loud music, from every...genre. At one point they turned the TVs on one entire wall to basketball. No issues with playoff basketball, but at least have every second TV with hockey, then both crowds can be happy. Major issue, service was horrendous. It took longer to get a beer than it did to get our meal. We could have had 3 beer each gone, in that amount of time. One meal came out with parts missing. We had to show our server what the menu said, before it was fixed and it took forever to get it. Everyone was finished eating before it finally showed up. Definitely would not recommend. Will be leaving asap to find a place with better service to watch the remainder of the playoff games tonight.More
Hi there, From your review, I wouldn't want to go here either. I am very sorry about your experience. It is embarrassing, to be honest. I would love to know more and find out from the server what happened. Can you please email me? You...More
Game night! Our server Margot was amazing. Could really see her being a manager , handle herself so well with clients and FAST service. Fun spot half Leaf’s fans and a lot of laughing. Thanks
Hey there, Thank you so much for the wonderful review. I hope we get to see you again soon. I will let Margot know about the review. Cheers, Stuart
Currently visiting my son in Canada and we had a weekend in Montreal. After a lengthy day sightseeing on the Sunday needed a good meal. Unfortunately many places in the centre were already fully booked and our 7 year old grandson was getting hungry, so...we gambled on a visit to McLeans and we were not disappointed. TBF as an Irishman I know that you can rarely go wrong with an Irish bar anywhere in the world. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff who immediately made us feel at home and very quickly had drinks delivered to us. Excellent food and beer selection and the food portions were very very generous and the food well presented and prepared. We were served by Margot who was a very friendly young woman who demonstrated great patience with me who had no idea how to sue the app menu 😀😀😀 A very family friendly place to visit and I would throughly recommend it to anyone who needs good craic and wholesome food when visiting Montreal. A note of warning I think they stop children coming in past 1930, but that needs confirmation.More
Hiya Jim, Thanks so much for the generous review! I will let Margot know. She's a star and is one of the ones that makes us who we are! Cheers big time, Stuart
I am from NB, went to Montreal for the first time in the spring of 2010 for Habs vs Caps with my older cousins (not sure what mom was thinking on that one lmao). Anyways I was in high school at the time, and none...of us had been to the city before. So we randomly stumbled upon this place, and it was A1. I try and make it back every year, and haven't been there since January 2020. Looking forward to dropping in at the end of the month and getting wrecked after having a good meal. Go Leafs, see ya soon Montreal and McLean's we have lost time to make up for.More
Hey there, Sorry for the late response, but that's so much for the review. Hope to see you again in the near future! Cheers, Stuart
