Heard great things about this place. Order the empanadas special- one empanadas, salad and Pepsi. $9,50. Empanadas were good, the Italian one was more panzerotti and disappointing. Sadly they were heated up in the microwave. The salad was simply lettuce with a few canned black olives. You are better off buying them cold and warming them up at home.

We came here after walking around Mount Royal all morning and the service and the food were great. This pleased our middle school aged boys and us, friendly service in three(!) languages and a meal that left us full and happy. Worth a try!

Friends told us about this place and so we opted to go all together. We really enjoyed it. Small place and nothing fancy. However the food and service was great. We started with nachos and guacamole, which was awesome. I had the chicken quesadilla which was a perfect portion filled with amazing flavors. Hubby had the chicken burrito which was... More

I recently visited this restaurant on the reputation of the empanadas and was not disappointed. They have 10 kinds. Vegetarian friendly ones as well. I tried the chilenas which are generously stuffed with ground beef, olives and a slice of egg - my favourite! Also the L'Italiana - spicy chorizo as the filling. Very good. And I tried one of... I discovered this place in 2003 when I moved to the area. Even though I no longer live in the area, we make special trips there every few months. The food is delicious. We have tried most things on the menu. I'm not crazy about the empanadas, however the chilena one is delicious. Their sandwiches, burritos, tacos, etc are amazing!

The empanadas and sandwiches are excellent! I just wish they had more Chilean dishes and less Mexican items.

It is for sure the best latin american place in Montreal. The staff is friendly, the place is cozy, relaxed. Portions are generous, enough to eat there, and also carry doggy bags. Highly recommended if you are looking for a relaxed place with good food.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
