Restaurant recommended by our hotel staff. Perfect lunch for Good Friday. We both ordered the fish & frites with a salad. It was delicious! We also had a bottle of Canadian Sauvignon blanc which was a terrific recommendation from our bartender. We would love yo...try the Italian wedding soup on the next visit. Highly recommend.More

Excellent drinks and food, wonderful atmosphere. Our bartender/server Jason was outstanding... knowledgable, attentive and genuine. I happened to find out while we were there about the passing of a cousin. Jason came around the bar, gave my wife and I a big heartfelt hug, and...he shared a toast with us in my cousins honor.More

Very nice ambiance, wonderful staff. Our group of two couples had a lovely evening of appetizers, drinks, dinner, and dessert. Definitely try the charcuterie, and order one of their featured cocktails.

we saw this was a respected breakfast spot and needed to have the long leisurely breakfast of a tourist. This fit the bill. The food was as expected, and the service relaxed while also attentive. We must have been lucky to catch a less than...busy Saturday morning and had no trouble being seated immediately and did not fell a need to rush as there was plenty of seating available at all times. Coffee was excellent, and our eggs and french toast were both quite good.More

This was a fun spot for a holiday dinner with family. The cocktails were great along with the appetizers. We had the artihoke hummas and the bone marrow to start. Both excellent. For entrees, our group had the bacon blood pudding, the catch of the...day, the flat iron steak, and the fish and chips. We were all very happy with our meals. We were not able to try their desserts as our "time" at the table was up and they had people waiting for our table. Maybe next time!More

We had an amazing brunch here on Christmas Eve Day while visiting Quebec City. The ambiance is sophisticated yet comfortable. The food was delicious as were the drinks (espresso martinis were amazing). The service was impeccable and friendly.

We were really looking forward to our reservation, but this place turned out so noisy that we couldn't hear the waiter shouting right into our ears. They crammed so many people into that tiny room that there was barely anywhere to even sit down without...bumping into other people. Not a place to go unless you're a single bachelor in your 20s and even then this wouldn't have been fun. They need to stop trying to cater to huge parties and cramming so many people in one tiny little space. We looked around and only one other party seemed to have their food, many people looked quite miserable. We did not hang around to experience what looked like a backed up kitchen. In addition to all of this, the manager started harassing me on Trip Advisor about this review. Perhaps he should spend his energy fixing the restaurant's problems instead.More

Louise Taverne & Wine Bar – Old Quebec, Canada REVIEW TITLE: Don’t miss stunning Old Quebec gem of a bistro OVERALL RATING: Perfection of a dinner DATE: October 2, 2023 REVIEWER BACKGROUND: Fortunate to travel extensively. I have done travel advising for years. We are...always looking for that “magic dining experience” and we found it certainly at Louise Taverne. COMMENTS: Every aspect of Louise Taverne is don’t miss. First of all, it is in a stunning all stone building with large windows looking out to the street. It is equally stunning inside with beautiful art. We asked to be seated at the window table under the Princess Louise portrait. The bar & restaurant are buzzing with locals and visitors alike. The beaming - charming - definition of welcoming manager Jean-Francois was there and exceptional. In greeting us, in honoring the table we had specifically requested, and in happily offering to replace a bottle of bubbly one of our group did not like with another (gratis). Our waitress was amazing - and when she had to go off shift - she went table by table to introduce her replacement so that everyone felt warm & fuzzy about the changeover. Food and drink were great. The locale is minutes walk from the central square tourist area - so also felt a bit like a sanctuary. It is extremely close to Auberge Saint-Antoine. Anytime you go to a spot and wish it was right in your own neighborhood so you could visit again & again, you know you have found a magic spot. Thank you Louise Taverne.More

This is a small place and we had made reservations on-line for a table inside. However, the weather was great, so we were able to sit outside. Service was excellent.
