Wonderful ambiance! We ate outside on a beautiful, sunny but cool day. Very much like a sidewalk cafe in Europe. Had a delicious cheese plate with fruit and of course a glass of wine, all while listening to a harpist playing nearby; romantic atmosphere. Service...More

We stopped in here on a whim for a late lunch as we couldn't last until dinner. We chose to share 1640 Discovery plank which was perfect and delicious. Very good service and lovely atmosphere.

Great location, in the middle of Quebec City, near the harbour, good food, I ordered the menu of the day ( you have what to choose: three or four tipe of dishes), great staff, especially "the ginger boy". Try it!

Our first visit was after conducting our own walking tour of upper Quebec City and we stopped in for lunch. We had a the soup of the moment and a great salad with shrimp. Nice drink menu along with wine by the glass. Friendly service.

We visited this restaurant twice, on the first occasion just for drinks, but we thought it would be nice to eat here as the food was stunning to look at, we then returned that evening for a meal, now I have to say as we...More

We stopped in - frozen and wet - after a tour on the top of the hop on-hop off bus in the wind and rain! 1640 Bistro was a delight - warm and welcoming to windblown travelers! We enjoyed a "brunch" menu - eggs benedict,...More

The food is pretty good. I would recommend the vegetarian omelet. Mobility-challenged persons can ask about the ground floor rest room.

This is close to the tourist centre of the old town so a busy tourist restaurant. Food was fine, price was fine, waiter was a bit over enthusiastic but good enough. All in all a more than adequate walk in meal.

Great location for tourists. We ordered steak frites. The beef arrived swimming in a sauce that I felt was a little sweet. The packet of mustard that came in a basket with ketchup and mayonnaise saved the day.

Busy place. Make reservations or you’ll eat late. Went at 5:30PM after a tour. Had French onion soup, which I liked, and carbonara, which was not drenched in sauce and not overly rich. Had cafe brasilien after dinner....yum.

Yes. We got a table for two without a reservation, even though the restaurant was busy. Just remember, there's no guarantee a table will be available especially if you go in a big group.

To the best of my recollection, the 4 of us had dinners that did not contain dairy. The staff was very accommodating, so I'm sure it won't be an issue.
