Wonderful, in-season, fresh food. The setting was comfortable, service was attentive and informative. Late lunch/early dinner for a family of four including adolescent sons. Everyone ate well and enjoyed!

We ended up eating dinner here twice, we liked it so much. Excellent food, with particularly good service. French food with a Nordic twist. Good wine selection.

I went to this place with a local quebequoise person. This place is his favorite place while in Quebec City. Staff were very good in wine and food selection. They offer food linked to Quebec so it provides a special memory for visitors

This place was awesome. The service was great from start to finish. Our server was very helpful in describing the dishes and the menu is quite creative with a number of dishes you don't see very often. We shared some appetizers to start including Bison tartar and Arctic Char Carpaccio which were both quite good. For entrees I had the... More

Wonderful dining experience! The food is amazing- locally sourced and foraged.....farm/forest to table....service is incredible- so attentive without seeming so-super wine selection and menu....ambience is perfect- we asked to be seated in a quieter section then the side by side tables and they happily obliged- also the manager has excellent wine recommendations....very happy (again)

My husband and I had really nice dinner here. We arrived at 5;45 without reservations and were lucky to get in as it filled up very quickly. My husband had the salmon tartar appetizer and the beef cheek as a main and said both were delicious. I had the beet tart and the root vegetable dish which was almost like... More

The restaurant prides itself on offering Nordic cuisine (from Northern Canada/Quebec) and the diner is not disappointed by the food or presentation. Informal setting. Well worth a visit. I ordered the salmon and was a little worried because the description included puff pastry, but the two little bits of pastry were served on the side and not on the salmon.

Came here for brunch with family on a Sunday. We had never been and were pleasantly surprised by the look and atmosphere as we walked in. No doubt this is a popular place. I generally find brunch menus singularly unimaginative here in Québec. This one is happily a little different and seems to respect the Bistro's commitment to locally sourced... More

Confit goose and duck leg parmentier, potatoes with mushrooms and fir tree essence, birch syrup vinaigrette: these are a few examples of what can be found on the menu at Chez Boulay – Bistro Boréal. On rue Saint-Jean in Quebec City since 2012, the restaurant places a value on the boreal region, especially the produce from the vast wilderness of northern Canada. For the last five years, the Bistro has been a popular destination because of our passionate chefs. Come meet our team and enjoy a memorable Nordic experience.

Five years after the opening of Chez Boulay – Bistro Boreal, Arnaud Marchand and his team innovate and export their culinary talent into this new gastronomic adventure: the Comptoir boreal.

In our charming and warm space in the heart of Quebec City, you will find pastries, sandwiches and ready-made meals that emphasize the value of the produce from our region. Foodies and clients on the go can come and enjoy snacks and meals that are out of the ordinary.
